After River verified what he had already known in regards to Inara's "father" coming with them, Simon makes his way back to his room, intent on a nap. It's been a busy day, after all.
After bathing and drying, he's sliding between the crisp silk sheets, sighing as the fabric caresses his bare skin.
...Yes, he sleeps naked. You had to ask?

Sometime after breakfast (of a sort) with Inara, Simon's wandering around the Training House, aimlessly.
In actuality, he's headed to River's room, but he doesn't want anyone to know that he's purposefully going there. Instead, he takes his time, popping into a class to help demonstrate something or other. He tries to gracefully decline being the subject of a trainee's first blow-job, but fails. (One wonders if he was really trying all that hard in the first place.)
Finally, he's walking down the corridor to River's room, where he reaches out to brush against her mind before he pauses and knocks on the door.

"This is unacceptable!" Simon yelled, slamming his hands down on the desk. Several items rattled from the force of it, and the Temple Priestess, Naya, flinched. "You promised that River and I would be guaranteed safety here!"
"Apologies, Dr. Tam. You know how reliable our security is. How those Agents were able to get in-"
"Your security was nothing until my sister and I took over," he hissed, cutting her off. "And even with all we've done, they are still nothing." He pushed himself off the desk and straightened his clothing. " It has become painfully obvious that you are no longer capable of sheltering us. Consider this an end to our arrangement. River and I will be leaving within the week."
The colour drained from Naya's face. "No! You can't! Our creditors will be-"
"You should have thought about that before you allowed those Agents into the Temple," the Doctor said coldly. And then he was gone.
Those he passed in the halls gave him a wide berth as he stalked towards his chambers. He had already sent River to her own room to start with the preparations, so he didn't have to worry too much about her.
He entered his quarters, letting the door slam shut. He let the reverberations of the noise sooth his nerves and he scrubbed a hand over his face. He hated to admit it, but he had become complacent, living here. He was too accustomed to the posh lifestyle of the upper-class and there was no real difference between what he had had at home on Osirus and what he had found living in the Companion's Training House on Sihnon.
It was time for a change. He and River couldn't afford to get fat on luxury when their lives were at stake. He had invested his money wisely, so they would never have too do without, they just needed to do with less.
It's these thoughts that accompany him as he empties drawers and folds clothing, putting essentials in one pile and extras in another.
