Can I take my appliance abroad?

No, our appliances are only suitable for use in the Benelux.

Appliances may only be located and used in the country of destination. So appliances destined for the Netherlands may not be used in Belgium and vice versa.

Should the supplied air vent be placed with a cooker?

With a gas-ventilated oven, the air vent should always be placed. This ensures that the burner in the oven receives sufficient oxygen and the surface will not go out during use. With an electric oven, we also recommend installing the air vent. This is because this air vent can provide extra protection when using larger pans in front of the burners. This prevents any discolouration on the back wall.

My spark ignition keeps ticking

The moment the ignition keeps ticking continuously, too much moisture has most likely gotten under the knob panel. This can be caused by overcooking or cleaning. The moisture can then come into contact with the spark switch, causing the spark transformer to receive a signal and then start making a ticking noise.

This is not dangerous, as the thermal protection prevents the release of gas. With a gas hob, we advise you to turn on the oven(s) so that it gets warm and the moisture can evaporate, after which the ticking will stop. With a hob, pull the plug out of the socket and let the appliance dry. You can still use the hob by lighting it with a match. Depending on the humidity, the drying process will take time. As the spark ignition dries, the ticking noise will diminish.

The spark ignition no longer works

If you have problems with the spark ignition on one burner, a spark plug or spark switch could be faulty. If the spark ignition does not work on multiple burners, then the spark transformer could be faulty. Is one of your ovens also not working? Check your meter box. In all cases, it is best to send for a technician. Please contact our customer service.

The flames of the burners are too high or too low

In the Netherlands and Belgium, we use two types of gas ovens:

– Natural gas: this is supplied through a fixed gas connection
– Butane and propane.

Always check that the appliance delivered is suitable for the correct type of gas. Should this not be the case, please contact our Customer Service for adjustment. Conversions should only be carried out by an authorised technician.

How can I adjust the low setting of my burners?

You can change the burner low setting by igniting the burner you want and taking off the knob. Above the pin is a copper-coloured screw. You can use a small screwdriver to adjust it.

The flame burns irregularly

Possibly the holes of the flame distributor are clogged. It is also possible that the flame distributor is not properly positioned on the chalice. Pay close attention to the marketing of the brass part, which must match the recess in the chalice.

The pan supports turn white and rust

Pot supports must not be cleaned in a dishwasher. They will become dull and may rust. We recommend cleaning the pan supports daily with lukewarm soapy water.

What gas pressure applies to natural gas in the Netherlands and Belgium?

Netherlands:

– Natural gas, gas pressure 25mbar
– Butane/propane, gas pressure 30mbar

Belgium:

– Natural gas, variable by region
– Butane/propane/bottle gas; gas pressure 30mbar, propane 0.37 to 0.40 pressure regulator

Can I convert my gas cooker or hob to another type of gas?

Your gas appliance can be converted from natural gas to butane/propane and visa versa, if the following 3 conditions are met:

1. This possibility is mentioned in the manual of your gas appliance as an option.
2. Your gas appliance is not older than 6 years.
3. The modification will be carried out by Boretti.

The costs for this within the Netherlands and Belgium are € 350,- incl. VAT, take into account a delivery time of 6-8 weeks.

For the sake of completeness, we draw your attention to the fact that if the above conditions are not met and a modification is carried out:

– this will void the warranty on your gas appliance and Boretti cannot be held liable in the event of an incident.
– you may not have insurance cover in the event of an incident.

If you decide to order this modification, an appointment will be scheduled in consultation with you in which:

– a Boretti technician will make technical adjustments to your gas appliance.
– where necessary, your gas appliance will also be provided with the correct marking(s) indicating the type of gas for which the gas appliance is suitable.

Is it possible to convert a gas cooker to induction or ceramic?

No, this is not technically possible.

Is it possible to convert a gas cooker to induction or ceramic?

No, this is not technically possible.

Is there a child lock on my hob?

Only hobs bought after 2013 have the option of activating a child lock.

Do I have to leave the oven door open to cool down the oven after use?

All Boretti hobs make use of jacket cooling which also helps them cool down after use. If you open the oven door, damage may occur to the front or the buttons over time.

Do you hear a humming noise when cooking on your induction hob?

Induction hobs or cookers always produce a noise. Check whether your pans are suitable for induction cooking. If your pan is suitable but is a little older, the induction hob may produce more noise because the base of your pan has become uneven. Test whether a different pan causes the same noise.

Noise:

– Humming at high setting. The humming decreases or disappears as the setting is lowered.
– Whistling: when multiple cooking zones are in use simultaneously, and each cooking zone holds a pan with a base made of a different material.
– Clicking: with electronic circuits, especially at low settings.

Does the oven of your cooker make noises?

All Boretti cookers make use of jacket cooling. If the temperature of the oven exceeds 60 degrees Celsius, the fan for the jacket cooling starts running automatically. It can also continue to run for a few minutes after the oven has been switched off. The fan will stop automatically.

Is the light in your oven not working?

You can activate the light on the inside of the oven by pressing the oven mode button (the button that lets you set the functions). If you then switch on the oven by selecting a setting and temperature, the lights should work again.

If this does not solve the problem, we advise you to check the oven lamps for possible defects. If a lamp is defective, then the oven lamp will have to be replaced. Use a heat-resistant oven lamp, which you can obtain in any shop that sells light bulbs. To gain access to the lamp in the oven, you must first remove the lamp glass. As grease and dirt will have built up over time, we advise you to remove the lamp glass with a cloth. If unscrewing the lamp glass proves difficult, you can use tongue-and-groove pliers.

Does the display of your hob show an error code?

Please refer to the user manual for instructions. Should this not resolve the issue, please contact our Customer Service department.

Do you smell a strange odour when you use the oven in your cooker for the first time?

If you are using the oven for the first time, it is possible that the oven will smell strange when it is on. This is normal. After production, some greases can stay behind in the oven, which will burn when the oven is first turned on. When using your oven for the first time, we recommend that you switch it on for 30 minutes at 250 degrees. If you have been using the cooker for a long time already and you smell a strange odour, we recommend that you clean all the accessories in the oven compartment, including the base plate.

How to start using my cooker?

The cooker is delivered from the factory, without a power cord and/or plug. We recommend that you have the cooker installed by a qualified electrician. If you do decide to install the cooker yourself, we recommend that you follow the installation diagrams in the manual.
