BOOTP/DHCP Server by Rockwell Automation is a lightweight Windows utility designed to quickly commission and manage IP addressing for Allen-Bradley and other EtherNet/IP devices on industrial networks. The tool listens for BOOTP or DHCP discovery requests from devices at factory defaults and lets you assign network settings by mapping each device’s MAC address to a defined IP configuration. With a few clicks, you can set the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and other common parameters, then disable BOOTP/DHCP on the device so it retains its settings after a power cycle.
Key features:
Typical uses include initial device commissioning, readdressing replacements, and staging systems offline before deploying to a plant network. For best results, run the utility on the same subnet as the target devices and ensure only one BOOTP/DHCP server is active on that network segment.
