Paddle Integration & Business Subscriptions Guide

1. Overview

As a Merchant of Record, Paddle handles all payments, taxes, and compliance for "List Your Business" subscriptions on Bookaweb.com. This policy explains how refunds are handled for these services. Paddle-processed payments may also be subject to Paddle’s official Buyer Terms and Refund Policy.

2. Refund Availability

Refunds are generally available under the following circumstances:

A. Statutory Right of Withdrawal (EU/UK Only)

In accordance with consumer protection laws in the European Union and the United Kingdom, customers have the right to cancel their subscription and request a full refund within 14 days of the initial purchase, provided the service has not been fully rendered.

B. Technical Issues

If a technical error on our platform prevents your business listing from being published or functioning correctly, and we are unable to resolve the issue within a reasonable timeframe, you are eligible for a refund.

C. Charging Errors

In cases of duplicate billing or incorrect charges caused by a system error, a full refund for the erroneous transaction will be issued.

3. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds are typically NOT provided in the following cases:

  • Cancellation of a subscription mid-billing cycle (access remains until the end of the paid period).
  • Violation of our Terms of Service leading to account suspension.

4. How to Request a Refund

Customers can request a refund by following these steps:

  1. Email Support: Send an email to team@bookaweb.com.
  2. Required Information:
    • Subject: Refund Request - [Business Name]
    • Email address used for the purchase.
    • Paddle Transaction ID (found in your email receipt).
    • Reason for the refund request.
  3. Response Time: Our team will review your request and get back to you as soon as possible.

5. Refund Processing

  • Approval: Once Bookaweb approves the request, the refund is initiated via the Paddle dashboard.
  • Merchant of Record: As the Merchant of Record, Paddle processes the payment back to your original payment method (Credit Card, PayPal, Apple Pay, etc.).
  • Timeline: Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days after processing, depending on your financial institution.

6. Subscription Cancellation vs. Refund

It is important to distinguish between cancelling a subscription and requesting a refund:

Cancellation: Prevents future charges. Your listing remains active until the end of the current billing period.

Refund: A return of funds for a specific transaction for your business listing. A refund for a subscription will result in the immediate deactivation of the listing.

7. How to Cancel Your Subscription

You can manually cancel your business subscription at any time through your User Panel:

  1. Log in to your Bookaweb account at panel.bookaweb.com.
  2. Navigate to the Subscriptions tab.
  3. Locate the subscription you wish to cancel and open menu in the options table section.
  4. Click on "Cancel Subscription".

Once cancelled, your listing will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle, and no further charges will be made. If you encounter any issues, please contact our support team at team@bookaweb.com.
