This hotel exceeded ALL expectations, on every single facility. This is probably my 12th trip to Japan, and my third to Kyoto. I stayed at Dusit Thani which is significantly more expensive than this hotel, yet this hotel blew that one out of the water.
Firstly, room sizes- amazing! Much larger than the average you will find around here. Beds are extremely comfortable, bathrooms are large, we elected for a room with a tatami area, no regrets. Perfect space to sit comfortably, catch up on emails, binge on the convenience store snacks, etc. Lots of closet space and space to lay out your suitcases. The beds are like clouds. I loved the traditional Japanese beds. You have all the toiletries you would need including robes for your room.
BREAKFAST- this is the factor that I use when looking for a hotel, it will make or break a trip for me. Breakfast was impeccable! You have a hot stone pizza oven and pizza made to ORDER. The pizza was on par with what I have had in Naples. AMAZING. Buffet is expansive! While coffee is not really a Japan thing, this hotel had the best coffee I had on my trip. The buffet included both Japanese and western foods, and all super high quality. You almost get your Japanese food fix just from breakfast. If for nothing else, I would book this hotel for the breakfast experience alone!
The lobby is gorgeous, they have a tea and coffee bar that is free. You are welcomed with a huge floral bonsai tree, the hotel smells like a spa right when you walk in. Hotel staff is super welcoming and warm and helpful.
The factor that stood out the most was Himamura!!! She was amazing, greeted us and attended to us as if we were family. Her warmth, service and smile lit up the entire hotel. Every morning we looked forward to seeing her. She was amazing. We would book again just to see her. The hotel is fortunate to have such an amazing staff working there.
Saying good bye to Himamura and leaving this place!
Centrally located 4 star hotel with a touch of local architecture. Bathroom spacious. Open tea and coffee bar
The rooms are a bit small with lack of a proper wardrobe and area for the suitcase. Lack of flexibility at the check your. Had to pay for half a day penalty fee cause I was 5 mins late (12.05pm) checking out.
The best place I stayed in Japan, the hotel is exquisite, the breakfast was amazing, the cedar tub had a very nice wood aroma, the hotel staff was super attentive and it was definitely the best hotel, this was a highlight of my trip - it was truly marvelous
Fantastic amenities, helpful and kind staff. Overall a perfect experience. I only wish I could have stayed longer.
No complaints.
Absolutely stunning room. Super large and felt very traditional. The tub was gorgeous and we were grateful they could accommodate a mattress on the tatami for our daughter. The mattress of our be was so comfortable and we slept so well.
It would be nice to have a breakfast menu we could order from instead of buffet.
Struttura tradizionale, molto ben curata
