Dark/dingy vibes
Other than the location, this hotel was awful. One of the worst Hampton Inns we have stayed at. The hotel is long overdue for a remodel. The rooms had worn out furniture, wall paper peeling off the bathroom walls and dust an inch thick under the air conditioner and mini fridge. The carpet was also worn and dirty. The desk lamp was rusty and no USB ports on the desk. The only place to charge anything or even an electrical outlet was on one night stand. The lobby area where they served breakfast had chairs that were so worn, there was barely any vinyl left on the seat. If I managed this facility, I would be terribly embarrassed to have guests see this as a first impression when they walked in the door from the front entrance. Our room faced a parking lot where the trash and recycle bins were stored. Those items were collected between 3 and 4 a.m. waking us up both mornings. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was pretty standard for Hampton Inn. The hotel is very convenient to the downtown Fairhope restaurants and shops. Too bad is was in such bad shape. We ended up finding another hotel for the remainder of our stay.
We liked the location. The breakfast was good.
The lobby breakfast area was in very bad condition. The seat cushions were cracked and worn out making the entire area look bad. It was just inside the front door and gave a bad first look.
Several hallway lights broken and burned out, wallpaper peeling, carpet stained and dirty. The furniture in our room was really beaten up, the closet mirrored doors were very rusted. Breakfast was terrible and there was a handmade tip jar on the counter even though we never saw anyone and cleaned up after ourselves. Employees were a little on the rude side.
We enjoyed a nice stay at this hotel. When we returned home we received a phone call from Jordan saying they had found an item we left behind. I telephoned the hotel and Alex helped me and even mailed the item to me! What excellent service! Thank you Jordan and Alex for superior customer service.
Leah was the most welcoming and friendly person! The team at breakfast was wonderful and everyone was so kind and delightful! The location is the best—walking distance and close to everything!
As Kamala and Biden famously said…“DON’T!” This is the worst hotel in such a quaint town. The rooms look like they are from the 1980’s. They smell. They are damp. The window unit AC is unbelievably loud and it’s hard to control the temperature. The furniture and drapes are FILTHY. Furniture and light fixtures are covered in inches of dust. I wore my shoes at all times in the room because the carpet was so scary. The bedding is disgusting. One thread barren sheet and the comforter was so old and dingy there is NO WAY it is cleaned between guests. The towels are dull and thin. I would have checked right out as soon as I entered the room but all hotels in the area were sold out due to many weddings that weekend. The city of Fairhope should be embarrassed this hotel sits on such prime real estate in their downtown. The exterior does NOT match the interior. This hotel needs a COMPLETE renovation! It’s too bad the town can’t buy this owner out and turn this hotel into a gem that matches the rest of this town.
Facility is in a sad state of repair.
Conveniently located downtown
The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in my entire life
Everything in downtown Fairhope is within walking distance of this hotel. The staff is friendly and efficient. The beds are comfortable. The breakfasts were flavorful. I would have given this location a rating of 5, but it is beginning to look a little shabby and needs updating. One of the star members of the staff was the desk clerk, Jordan. There was an issue with our reservation that she worked to resolve in a most diplomatic way. We were most appreciative not only for her resolution of the issue, but also for pleasant attitude throughout the episode.
Satisfactory
Facility is dated and needs renovation. Lobby furniture is threadbare. Hotel rooms/baths dated.
