It ticked all the boxes couldn’t fault anything at all. Made our stay in Vilamoura exceptional. Wished we’d stayed a few
Pros:

Very welcoming friendly staff. Lovely swimming pool and close to the beach and marina. It had a very relaxing and ambient vibe. The bar staff were exceptionally friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and good quality.

I’m an IHG member and travel a lot but this is the first time in any hotel that the 1 coffee pod per person has no been replenished. When I asked for a pod I was told I could pay 2euro 50

“Crowne Plaza Saved Our Holiday”
Pros:

I’ve just arrived at the Crowne Plaza and unfortunately discovered that my mum’s wheelchair had been damaged during the flight. Gabriel from the hotel immediately stepped in, arranged a loan wheelchair for us, and even called a maintenance person to repair my mum’s chair.

This level of care genuinely saved our holiday.

Great location, friendly staff and clean hotel.
Pros:

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Extremely clean and in room cleaning everyday. The staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. The hotel is in a great locations which is easily accessible to the beach, close to the marina and restaurants and also a short walk from Quintero’s.

Only improvements would be that there is water filter refills throughout the hotel. Nowhere to top up water.

A very enjoyable four day holiday
Pros:

As a family of 9, across three generations, we had a wonderful 4 day break at the Crowne Plaza, Vilamoura. The hotel was large, clean and well maintained. The bedrooms were the same with lovely views, especially the suite with panoramic sea views and were well cleaned on a daily basis. The swimming pool and indoor spa were a great hit with the younger generation and everyone enjoyed playing pool.
The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Hugo was so welcoming and helpful behind the desk and Miguel, the food and beverage manager, was also extremely helpful when we had specific dietary requests. The food and the two restaurants were top class with a great selection and very friendly and efficient staff.
All 9 of us had a wonderful holiday, thank you Crowne Plaza, Vilamoura.

NOT A FIVE STAR HOTEL!! THE SERVICE OF A THREE STAR!!
Pros:

First, let me say that we travel for 3 or 3 weeks at a time and have a lot of experience with hotels. While this establishment appears to be a 5 star hotel, there are several things that happened during our stay that say otherwise. One of the most concerning was our Easter dinner. It was an average meal totaling $135. The only part of our meal that arrived in a timely manner was the appetizers. After that, everything else arrived randomly with neither my wife or I getting any other part together. After multiple requests, my main course came an hour and 45 minutes after we started this very disappointing experience. By this time my wife’s food was cold. We asked for boxes to take it to our room. At this point, neither my desert nor drink, included in their Easter offering, had been delivered. THERE WAS A COUPLE SITTING NEAR US THAT GOT UP AND LEFT BECAUSE OF THE SAME SCENARIO. THE HUSBAND HAD FINISHED HIS MAIN COURSE AND HIS WIFE HAD NOT RECEIVED HERS.
This morning upon checkout, after our three day stay, my wife expressed her displeasure about the service. A MANAGER WAS CALLED WHO SHOWED NO CONCERN. THE MOST MEMORABLE PART OF THE EXCHANGE WAS THE MANAGER DOUBTING OUR RECOLLECTION OF THE EVENTS. LATER, SHE ADMITTED THAT WE WERE RIGHT.
I would like to say that a small gesture, a 10% adjustment to our bill, which would have amounted to less than 14 Euros, would have been enough. It had nothing to do with money during our $12,000 vacation and everything to do with right and wrong. A FIVE STAR HOTEL DOES NOT COLLECT THE TOWELS IN YOUR ROOM BEFORE ALLOWING YOU TO HAVE MORE. WE HAD A $300 DEPOSIT AND THEY WERE WORRIED ABOUT TOWELS!!

Terrible experience!

1) Misleading hotel pictures: There are 2 pictures showing a lounge with ocean view. But when we arrived, we were told that pictures were for their presidential suites. There are no common hotel areas with ocean view! The ocean view lounge was one of the major reasons why we booked this hotel! But we didn't get it.

2) They charged 15 euros per person for using indoor pool! That is insane! We have been to so many 5 star hotels in Algarve as well as other cities in Portugal, this was the only hotel charges their guests for using indoor pool!

3) There was a ping pong table in the lounge, which also costs extra money to play.

4) The iron, the kettle and the hair dryer in the room are so cheap that you can hardly find in any stores.

Misleading, misleading, cheap, cheap! That's the impression we got for this hotel. We paid mostly for the 'ocean view lounge' that shown in hotel pictures, the indoor pool that should be free. We didn't get those. We would have absolutely skipped this hotel if they advertised with honest information. Don't make the same mistake we did.
