the friendliness of the staff, very different to the last time I stayed here. When you are travelling on your own, its nice to be treated with respect, not as a foreign object. It wasn't clear about the cleaning of the room that you had to request it. Had to go down to get tea and coffee and milk because I had run out.
I wasn't keen on the brightness of the lights in the bar - they could do with a dimmer switch to tone them down a bit. There wasn't a book in the room telling about the hotel and the facilities. eg menu for dining in the hotel in the evening. I was sad that breakfast was self service and the old menu has gone. there were no biscuits to go with the tea and coffee, and could we have some hot chocolate please. Having to pay for parking my car in the car park. Never had that before.
Friendly and accomodating staff.
Excellent location!
Good english breakfast.
I wished room slippers were provided.
Location , staff
Shabby painting , paint runs on window , noisy water pipes
I liked the fact that I depend on a mobility scooter and the staff switched my room around to accommodate my needs to make my stay more comfortable, I was very grateful as I didn’t ask them too, they just did it, so thank you to the check in team, sorry I didn’t get your names but once again thank you
Only down fall I suppose was the renovating but that means it will be even better the next time I stay
Everything
Nothing
All staff were very helpful and friendly.
The hot breakfast was cold, plates were cold.
Fire alarm sounded at midnight and carried on for ages, nobody came to explain anything we had to come down from the second floor to find out the problem, it was a very frightening experience, especially for my wife who is visually impaired and obviously has difficulty using stairs, we should have been given a room on a lower floor especially when we had informed them in advance.
Location
Although we paid for a lake view it was very restricted and the table and chairs were inaccessible because of the position of the bed. We were in a disabled room which was inappropriate. Also we were informed of a water main being switched off via a note in the check in envelope, this should have been made clear before arrival so we could cancel and be refunded. The building work also restricted views and was noisy.
nice friendly, helpful staff, an excellent location nice and central , quiet, restful, outstanding views of the lake and fells, great breakfast,
size of beds, car park charges
Staff shout out to Phillip Smith. Thankyou so much for recommending this short walk from Belsfield Hotel, right up a hill into a secluded forest area with beautiful views and benches to sit on.
I was visiting with friends and I had 30 minutes to get in as much exercise as I could and I wanted to get away from the touristy countryside areas busy with people. I asked Phillip for help, and he couldn't have been more helpful. He listened to my request and then went out of his way to recommend exactly what I needed, he also drew me a map and gave me directions. Great customer service, thank you,
The location was perfect
Room cold stuck in a corner lots of stairs to cart luggage up and down! Room looking out onto a building site. Windows rattled in the wind all night, charged £15 per night for car parking which was full of pot holes
Great location, lovely staff and comfy bed 🛌 would definitely stay again
Its a bit dated in places, I expected a bit more. But they are currently doing work on the hotel
