I liked the location of the property and comfortability of the bed.
The parking and valet is a nightmare with the construction and events happening. Not to mention it was an additional $44 for parking each night.
Our room was extremely spacious (king suite) and was on the end of the hotel with amazing views of the rivers and the city. Perfect location to all the popular areas downtown and all the sporting events. All within walking distance. Everything was very clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Starbucks inside lobby was also a huge plus.
It was definitely on the pricey side for a one night king suite. The room/furniture is a bit outdated, bathroom is tiny for such a large room, the shower is extremely narrow and small and the bed had nothing but a sheet on it. A blanket or comforter would have been nice. Overall it is a nice hotel, but for the price I would expect new/updated and top notch comfort/facilities.
The property was perfectly located, right in the center of everything, which made it easy to explore and get around. As a first-time visit to Pittsburgh, the experience exceeded expectations. The view from our room was absolutely stunning, and the pool and hot tub were never crowded and consistently clean. The hotel also had strong security measures in place, you needed a key card to enter the building late at night and to access any guest floors, which made us feel safe throughout our stay. We will definitely be back to this property if visiting Pittsburgh.
The only downside was that the hotel bar closed earlier than expected after we had been told it would be open, and valet took about 20 minutes to bring our vehicle despite initially saying it would only take five. That said, once we contacted the staff, they addressed the situation right away. Overall, the hotel staff was excellent and very responsive.
We had a fab room looking into the city but could also see both stadiums. Nice furniture, comfy bed, great bathroom
The valet parking is $44 a night! And it took over 15 min for our car to arrive after requesting it. So, not a great service. I’d recommend parking in a garage..it would be cheaper and you would have access to your car…and won’t have to wait so long.
The staff were all so helpful and Nice!
Debbie At the Front Desk Was so sweet !
In my room 1626 the top of the bed corner towards the door like right under the mattress like on the frame of the bed looked like puke or something.
Clean and Respectful that’s all I have to say
Had a restaurant and bar
Very outdated and room was small
Michele checked us out, she was very nice & friendly. She did not rush us to check out, she actually made conversation & shared laughs as well. She took great care of us & our concerns while staying there.
The view was amazing
The hot tub was way to hot
They need new carpet in the hallways. Tripped because it was coming up.
Location
My experience at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown was extremely disappointing and honestly concerning.
When we arrived, the situation at valet was chaotic and unsafe. Two valet attendants were engaged in a heated argument, and one individual (Jaylyn) became aggressive—threatening to shoot and kill the other employee. This escalated to a physical altercation right in front of our vehicle, which was struck during the incident. My father had just been discharged from the ICU after a serious cardiac event, and my daughter was in the back seat. We were forced to lock ourselves in the car and call the police just to feel safe.
After finally getting inside, I reported the situation along with other guests who witnessed it. Management’s response was dismissive—essentially offering dinner vouchers instead of addressing the severity of what had just occurred.
The following morning, while preparing to leave for the hospital, we found a rolled cigar under the nightstand that smelled strongly of marijuana. As someone who does not tolerate drug exposure—especially with children present—I immediately contacted the front desk. While they removed it, this raised serious concerns about room cleanliness and safety standards.
Between the violent incident at valet, lack of meaningful response from management, and the condition of the room, this stay was unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel, especially for families or anyone expecting a safe, professionally managed environment.
Michele at the front desk was amazing, very helpful, and a great host.
