A Bold Earth summer is an immersive, phone-free experience, guided by curiosity and the willingness to try something new. Our trips are designed with intentional itineraries for teens ages 13-18 who are looking for something outside the ordinary.

It is a daunting experience at first to send your child off to be with two young adult leaders (you never meet) and a small group of unknown peers for several weeks. [My son] was very nervous, but all these feelings diminish quickly after a safe landing and getting to know the group. The worry turns into a joyful, personality growing series of adventures, which they can't stop telling you about.

Bold Earth gives kids a chance to step out of the normal churn of day-to-day life with school, sports, hobbies and try something totally new. They get to make new friends from across the US and the world, try out new activities, build confidence and just spend some time being a teen!

Disconnecting from her phone (digital detox) allowed [my daughter] to strengthen connections with others and fully immerse in the physical environment. The daily activities stimulated [her] and hopefully will inspire her to continue seeking challenging outdoor adventures.
