Why can the war in heaven happen when there's only one fallen empire

Why does paradox just torpedo your endgame with 800k power fleets

I literally built a fleet to fight them, i beat their 400k stacks thrice when they bashed them against my entire fleet 80k fleet + 98k federation ships + a citadel + star fortress + toxic god, but it just didn't fucking matter. It just doesn't matter because they take the entire galaxy because there's no war in heaven and they just genocide everyone with the game running 6 days per minute

I was playing as a spiritualist, xenophile pacifist with a confederation with all other empires wich were only three really shitty megacorps because i just wanted to see the what happens when you tame the toxic god when the little aracnid cretins attacked and i was too invested to let go of a save tha was basically over already
>>

>federations
Ai allies are only useful in the early game and if they box you in they can actually hurt you.
>spiritualist
Doesn't matter. Spiritualist doesn't give you a tech debuff and having more unity is good. This sounds more like you fucked up your planets and didn't research enough.
>>
What a skill issue.
>>
Funny you say that. When they were first introduced they actually woke up in the midgame and Paradox has nerfed them ever since.

Why are tier 1 skeleniggas so expensive to raise in this shit game

Necromancy works as any culture IMO. I think it's best on Dark Cult of Death or Mystic Summoners, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with Architects.

Shadow Tomes don't really lend themselves to a production-focused build and Undead builds tend to be fairly intensive in terms of tomes needed (optimally anyway), but it shouldn't be too hard to work in a cheap tome like Zeal (Fanatical Workforce) or Enchantment (Awakened Tools) to squeeze out some extra production where you need it.
>>
>>2382016
Good advice but Wonders can take 4-8 turns to build even for a industry focused build. Don't think a single tomes industry spell is going to cut it. Closes you can get is maybe the transmutation spell to turn excess mana into industry. But then you would run out of mana for skeletons. Probably need to split into mat/shadow tomes 50/50. If its a large map with lots of free cities you could probably do that with the shadow skill that gives you knowledge on hero kill but tricky otherwise.
>>
>>2382127
Well the spells wouldn't just help with the wonders, if you can speed up every construction by a bit you still end up with a significant turn advantage in the long run. But you're right, if you really want to be able to build wonders quickly you need a lot more than just one spell.
>>
>>2334969
You missed the short period of Giant Scorpions being the best unit in the game. It was pretty fucking awful to see the tier 3 absolutely go pound for pound with tier 5s. Only solution was Battlemage spam but on Sand maps the Scorpions can teleport to them and then you're fucked anyway. The scorpions are still obnoxious now mind you just not as much as before.
>>
>>2362387
Bra but the new Chaos tomes feel really good for an early rush or tier 2/3 armies. Tier 1s are probably still a bit weak though. Especially for Architects who are designed to scale harder than other cultures.
>>2363253 you only benefit off your highest Incarnate/Monolith so don't spread it out unless you are going for some ridiculous meme like Cosmic Empire trait and you need the Influences.
>>2365084
Monarchy Mythic Rush is quite good with that trait. Not only is this one of the few ways to buff your Mythics significantly your Monarch stack has no upkeep so you do not need to worry about the Imperium drain.
>>2365479
It's the other way around. They got massively buffed since now most units deal only Physical damage with Enchantments adding physical Elemental damage instead of adding Magical damage. Also Magic Fighters are quite scuffed at the moment.

So much overpowered units here. No wonder it takes a lot of dollars and tiered buildings to unlock those op units. Pic related, this AC-130 is crazy for firing while on the move, and engaging air units. $12000 and 2:00 to build? Intense.

Let's discuss the greatest fantasy turn based strategy series of all time.
>Heroes of Might and Magic III
The greatest fantasy strategy game ever made, contender for best TBS ever along with SMAC obviously.
>Heroes of Might and Magic IV
Greatest soundtrack in the series, most innovative game too but unfortunately it didn't have enough time (money) to flesh out its good ideas and fix the bad ones.
>Heroes of Might and Magic V
An admirable attempt to capture the magic of the 3rd game, while still trying to incorporate some ideas from the 4th.

Haven't played the rest, although I had the 2nd game on my backlog ever since I got it for free 20 years ago. From what I've heard it's just a more imbalanced version of 3, with less options. Just like M&M VI is to VII!

I missed the 30 year anniversary last year, just like Olden Era missed its release date to commemorate the anniversary.

Are you fucking stupid, did you not play the demo? The only "balanceniggers" are living in your head, game is less broken than 3 but it's still got clear winners and losers as well as meme/highroll options.
The worst things about the game are uninspired visual designs, which everyone and their grandma commented about at this point.

Maybe 50 was too much. I just wanted to make an insanely good carrier, since Alex keeps nerfing them into the ground for no discernible reason. The patch notes for the next version aren't exactly promising.

>fixed a bug where carriers were helpful in a fight
>>

If that doesn't work out for you here's a different idea - since gravitons are weak make a ship with 300 integrated forward facing ones :)

You'd fry the PC of everyone playing because the game itself cannot handle more than 8GB of ram anyway.

The problem is not 4 factions but the 4 choices.

Space marines - shouldn't regularly fight eachother. Badab war and such. Before you get autistic remember the word.
>REGULARLY
Imperial guards - should not regularly fight space marines, if they fight other guards it's liable to be lost and the damned.
Eldar - fight the Imperium regularly enough, but not a 24/7 kind of foe.
Orks - was made fer fightin.

Imagine if Warhammer fantasy total war released with:
Empire
Bretonnia
Wood Elves
Orks
>>
>>2382713
I thought this is be an issue but the game won't actually have anything close to a traditional TW campaign with factions holding territories. As far as I can tell from interviews and snippets there won't be guard one province minors filling out the map or diplomacy. It's going to be mostly orks vs imperium with eldar teleporting around to achieve whatever their win condition is, but they don't occupy any terrain.
>>
>>2377561
I will wait and see how this is actually implemented and works. Ideas sound great, but not in the total war formula
>>
>>2382713
It's more like
Ogres
Empire
High Elves
Orks

I think the variety is nice.

HCs have higher dps than a FU Arb against anything with decent pierce armor (5 or more, which is a lot of units in Imp), assuming they're fighting in large battles where the lower accuracy means less, so they're actually very underrated as generalist units. For many civs with bonuses, like Hindu, Burgundians, Spanish, Italians, Portuguese, they're the single best choice for ranged unit in the late game.

They're weak to enemy archers, just like every unit has some weakness, and you want a meatshield like you want for any other range unit. But they're already good. And they delete all infantry of course.

I wish we got actual airborne units in the game, like being able to keep your infantry in reserve and then aidrop them in later to hit hard as fuck into the enemy backline. At the cost of no support weapons or only light armor.
But even if we got it fun is not allowed unless using vehicles so a parachute would be 1000 supply per squaddie or some shit

have your tried shooting them? also start a new run and buy 1 vehicle ammo crate per op so your vehicles wont run out of ammo that quickly if you arent spamming supply drops for them

>I originally composed it for two sopranos and piano... :)
>A short story about how this piece made its way from the walls of the Academy of Music into a strategy game.
>For an exam, we needed a contemporary piece and a duet. Since I find late 20th-century music—what we call “contemporary” in classical music—particularly hard to digest, the idea came up to write my own piece, namely a duet. Taking it a step further, partly out of curiosity, I decided to use this composition more broadly in a completely different style. It turned out to be a perfect choice, and today the main parts are performed by the nyckelharpa, alternating with vocals and flute, and the piece “Forgotten Dance” has become part of the soundtrack for the game “Songs of Syx”
>>
>>2338969
The "reduced scaling" is effectively a hard cap. Efficiency is always lowered so any number of hunters produces what 15 does.
>>
>>2382412
Make sure that your food production and services have high priority so in times of workforce shortage they get workers and keep your plebs happy and fed.
Don't forget Janitors are needed to keep services and food production (bakery) maintained for fulfillment, so give them a high priority too.
When you satisfy food and services your population will start to bounce back again if you have automatic immigration set to your previous pop amount.
You should also go by what another anon said and train 10% of your population to be full time soldiers, you can use the hunter to get some easy leather for leather armors and consider unlocking makeshift weapons for either spear wall or war hammers.
The makeshift weapons only cost wood and stone and are the same like metal weapons, so better than just sending your army in to a fight with only their bare fists.

Got this game recently at a discount, it seems pretty good. An old RTS that is very simple to play with very quick matches lasting 5-10 minutes each. The game is mostly dead, only finding matches at night, but the people who play seem to be curious buyers like myself trying out the game too leading to fun and fairly equal matches.

Anybody else here has played it? It really seems like a good rts, perfect to get people into the genre, don't understand why it didn't take off.

Hey anons, not trying to hijack the thread, but I wanted to hear your opinions on a Tooth & Tail themed mod for hoi4? I have done quite a bit of modding, some of it for disgusting mentally ill discord troons I admit but it helped me get experience, and I also loved Tooth & Tail and really enjoy its setting. Do you think it has potential? I am not stupid enough to think it will be the next kaiserreich or tfr, I am simply wondering if the setting is fun/interesting enough for other anons so I start working on it. I will also be respectful to what little lore the game has and please correct me if I am wrong about anything. Setup would be something like
>Big land map with 4 nations, the "Civlized" are the strongest with the most land, lakes and rivers randomly sprinkled throughout the map
>The "commies" under Hopper would have a lot of desert, a lot of manpower but low tech/industry, some bonuses to recovery rate, daily commie support and popular figurehead
Note: the commies in the game aren't actually commies, as far as I know they steal the commie aesthetic but are actually the "democratic" faction, their goal is democratically choosing who to eat. I guess they could be anarchists because Hopper doesn't see herself as leader (and the previous leader was a traitor who defected to the religious "Civilized").
>The capitalists under Bellafide, their land will be mostly plains and forest. Bellafide would have really good industrial bonuses but no army advantages, maybe even a small malus.
In the lore of the game Bellafide is said to be a bad military commander that by the mid point in the story keeps on losing non stop. Bellafide is NOT THE GOOD GUY. Correct me if I am wrong, but his faction's goal is to "eat the poor", they don't have any semblance of democracy, the rich rule, they pay some mercenaries for control, the rest of the population "the poor" are food.

Cont. 1/2.
>>
Cont. 2/2.
>Remnants of the military under the Quartermaster. Terrain is a bit of everything. Decent industry, decent army, best tech, maybe the lowest manpower. In the lore, wolf sergeant Volkov was very popular in the military unlike the Quartermaster and more soldiers were loyal to him than her. Volkov is also a traitor, seeks to join the "Civilized". This faction is ex-monarchist, were loyal to the Tsarina but now she is gone.
This is where I need lore help. Call me out if I am wrong but it seems the Quartermaster is THE GOOD SIDE. She isn't a military strongwoman, her goal has always been to stabilize the nation, minimize unnecessary deaths, and "food" are captured criminals/enemy combatants. Would I be wrong to think her faction is actually democratic and Bellafide non-aligned?
>The Civilized. Strongest faction, "fascist". Strongest army, decent industry, normal tech, 2nd highest manpower after the commies.
They trick random civillians seeking safety with religion to eat them, telling them it is all fair and God is choosing them at random (lies, the clerics and military defectors/leaders to their side are never food). Characters like volkov, the matriarch (previous commie leader before hopper) and the like seek to be accepted into the Civilized and betray their previous factions. Gameplay wise I think that perfectly shows the Civlized are the strongest and the commie and military factions will have bad national spirits of "hidden sympathies" among their ranks. The capitalists I actually don't remember defecting in any meaningful capacity to the Civilized. If my memory serves me right Bellafide pays them well and there was even hope of society being rebuilt at one point so they stayed with him.

If people are interested, I can go on with possible timeline of events including the alliance of the 3 factions vs the Civilized and a "bad ending" if they all fail to win. (Spoiler: the pigs revolt). My idea is making something similar to "catharsis" in tfr.
