Countdown Pro for Gutenberg produced just the look I wanted. A very clean look in both the front and back ends. Much nicer than several other countdown plugins I tried. The one tweak I had to make to get Countdown Pro to play nicely with WP Fastest Cache was to go into the WP Fastest Cache Exclude tab to exclude Countdown Pro’s blocks.css and blocks.js from the cache. Maybe the author can adjust the enqueueing so the exclusions aren’t necessary.
