Before Blue Cape Digital, Kiernan Rien and Blaine Bowers crossed paths while working together at a marketing agency in Austin, Texas. Kiernan, a skilled member of the PPC Team, recognized the need for a captivating ad for a roofing company client. Aware of Blaine’s exceptional talent as a designer on the Design Team, Kiernan approached him with the task. Blaine’s creative gears started turning, and he proposed an ingenious concept that involved incorporating a shark bursting through a roof and causing flooding.
The underlying message was clear: even in the face of the most unexpected and dramatic challenges, the roofing company’s expertise could mend any situation. This collaborative effort not only demonstrated the duos synergy but also showcased their ability to infuse originality into practical solutions.

Hello! I’m Kiernan — founder of Blue Cape Digital. I didn’t start in marketing; I got here by running businesses, figuring things out the hard way, and learning what actually drives results.
That hands-on experience taught me that creativity only works when it’s backed by strategy—and that trust matters just as much as metrics. Whether it’s a campaign, a brand, or a website, I focus on what moves the needle and builds real relationships along the way.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of San Francisco and my master’s from UC Irvine, where I sharpened how I think about storytelling, strategy, and data.
