Graphical Summary

Origin 2026‘s new Graphical Summary feature provides an all-in-one statistical visualization that gives users a fast, comprehensive overview of their data. With a single dialog, the tool generates a coordinated set of plots and summary statistics, helping users assess central tendency, variability, distribution shape, and potential outliers in one unified report.

The Graphical Summary includes:

  • Histogram with fitted distribution to visualize shape, skewness, and spread
  • Box Chart for comparing medians, quartiles, and identifying outliers
  • Normal probability plot (Available for Separate Graphs Arrangement) to evaluate how well the data follow the normal distribution
  • Confidence-interval comparison charts for quick subgroup or factor comparisons
  • Descriptive statistics table with mean, median and their confidence intervals.

Four Graph Arrangement options in the dialog:

  • Separate Graphs: Select this option if you want a detailed summary for each variable within each group. Each variable-group combination is displayed in its own graph, allowing a focused examination of individual measurements and subgroup behavior.
  • Per Variable: Select this option to compare subgroups for a single variable. Each graph shows all groups for that variable, making it easy to see differences between subgroups. Other variables are shown in their own separate graphs.
  • Per Group: Choose this option if you want to compare multiple variables within a single group. Other groups are shown in their own separate graphs.
  • All in One: Select this comprehensive option if you want to examine both variables and subgroups simultaneously. This layout combines all variables across all groups into a unified view. It is useful for identifying overall patterns and interactions at a glance.

The Graphical Summary delivers a fast, all-in-one overview of your data. With automatically generated graphs and summary statistics, it lets you quickly explore distributions, variability, and outliers.
