Hi everyone,

It's been a while since I posted, largely because my screen time is sucked up by writing and editing, and I do my best to spend recreational time away from an electronic device of any kind. However, I have happy news: if you remember a Grimm Ichi fanfic called "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," it has undergone quite a transformation! It's now called Zipper Fall, and the novel is coming out on Friday, September. 20th. That's tomorrow. Not only that, but I'll be online, answering questions from readers, posting excerpts and doing book give-aways, on Sunday afternoon (I'll share exact time tomorrow). The link is http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/blog.
It will cross-post to Facebook, so if you friend me or Dreamspinner Press, I'll be there, but to make comments, please go to the link above.

Other than that, all is well. I am eager to kick my old stories to the readers so that I can focus on new material. So many books to write, so little time!

See you there!

Kate

I know this is hella late, and I do apologize to you all for my tardiness in posting the compiled list. You know how RL is...just comes up and smacks you around when you're not paying it enough attention.

Anyhow, here's the compiled list of all the wonderful sentences our members wrote for the last challenge, and hopefully we will get the poll up for you guys to vote on your favorite very soon. Great work everyone!~

Challenge is Closed!

Thank you to all who participated, and great work! We (the mods) will be voting on our favorites over the next few days (to a week) and will post our selections for your vote sometime this weekend. As usual, a compiled list of sentences will be posted here as well, for your reading pleasure. Feel free to continue commenting each others' sentences, but the challenge itself is officially closed, and any sentences posted after the deadline will not be eligible for the vote. Thank you all again!

Wow, summer is nearly over and school (for those of us who go or have children who do) is about to begin.
And so we here at bleach_muses decided this will be the perfect time to run another One Sentence Challenge before life resumes it's hectic pace (after this one, there won't be another challenge till the end of October, and after that mid-December or not until after the holidays).

One Sentence Challenge!!!

Alright...so you're all aware that bleach_muses will be making some changes in the next couple of weeks. We've already made the comm public, streamlined the links, and finished up the last challenge. We discovered that maybe a genre challenge is a bit too broad, so we'll be returning to the tried-and-true prompts like we've done in the past, with two small changes:

1.) Because it seems like we always wind up with a ton of prompts that don't get used (hey, sometimes we're not inspired; doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the prompts!) we're going to set a limit per member for prompts. Each member can initially post 5 prompts each (if you have more you want to do, PM me or Glim, k?)--and to be perfectly fair, us mods will do the same. We don't want anyone feeling left out or have feelings hurt cause their prompts don't get used.

Now, I have to discuss this with Glim (which I will do tonight) but maybe we should set a theme for each challenge, and the prompts adhere to that theme (though the sentences don't have to). Like how we did the Valentine's Day challenge...most of the prompts pertained to that holiday. What do you think? WOuld you rather have open season on prompts, or a more pointed approach? Let us know!
We were thinking of beginning the challenge Sunday, August 22, so you all have time. Even if you want to just have a free-for-all on the prompts, we might do a themed challenge...so suggest themes! (And start thinking of prompts!) I know it sounds pretty directed, but we want to know your opinion. You guys are what makes this comm work, after all.

2.) We as mods will no longer be trying to reach a consensus on only one sentence per participant as our favorite. Like I stated at the beginning of the last vote, we don't have the exact same tastes.

Also, let us know what you want to see here on the Comm. Contests, discussions, etc. Tell us what you want, and we'll most likely give it to you. Also, don't be afraid to start discussions of your own. We value each and every one of you, and though things might be rocky at first, or slow moving, we want this comm to be the best it can be!

Sorry this is so late, everyone, but the votes are in. As you will see, xglimpsex and I decided to do things a little differently this time around. As we both have very different tastes, coming to a consensus about which sentence from each author to pick (if we didn't both choose the same one) is almost impossible. So this time we agreed to disagree and post BOTH of our favorites. So, on to the rules and the vote...

As previously stated, bleach_muses will be seeing some changes in the next couple of weeks. The first change, of course, is that the comm is now public. However, in order to post to the comm, membership is still required. xglimpsex, cairnsy, and I would also like to point out to all members that you are all free to make posts to the comm, as long as posts are either Bleach or writing related (preferably both, lol), not just for Concrit Mondays.

This is a revised list of Bleach and writing related links. Some have been removed, either because we the mods felt that some were more helpful than others, or the pages were gone entirely. If you find a link that you feel should be added, please PM xglimpsex or myself and we will check it out. Thank you guys for bearing with us as we make these changes.
