BLE Hero is a comprehensive development tool that caters to engineers, software developers, and individuals engaged in the creation of Bluetooth Low Energy enabled products or applications.

One notable feature of BLE Hero is its support for both light and dark modes, offering users a choice of visual themes.

The tutorial section is equipped with video tutorials to assist users in navigating through the tool's functionalities and features. These tutorials can be easily accessed under the Help section.

DFU (Device Firmware Update) support is currently provided for Nordic Semiconductor devices, with Cypress, Silabs, and STMicro support coming soon. This enables users to update the firmware of their devices seamlessly.

BLE Scanning capabilities offer comprehensive search options, including the ability to search by any values included in the advertisement data. Users can also benefit from real-time RSSI plots and estimated advertisement intervals for each discovered peripheral. Furthermore, a complete listing of all advertisement data is available for each discovered peripheral. The tool also includes features like favorites support, the ability to permanently ignore devices, and Locator Mode for added convenience during scanning operations.

The connections feature allows users to establish and maintain connections with multiple devices simultaneously, offering enhanced flexibility in device management.

GATT (Generic Attribute Profile) Interactions are made seamless with BLE Hero. Users can attempt reconnection from anywhere within the app without having to return to the scan results. The tool also enables users to explore GATT services, characteristics, and descriptors along with the ability to read characteristics and display formats such as HEX, ASCII, or UInt8 byte array. The characteristic view also provides read and notification history with timestamps. Additionally, users can write characteristics using HEX, ASCII, or Decimal keyboards and view write history within the characteristic view itself. Descriptors and descriptor values are accessible as well as notification/indication functionalities.

The logging capability of BLE Hero is highly detailed, providing users with comprehensive insights. The tool offers a search function to easily locate specific events. Detailed information capturing all BLE events is available, including advertisement data, connection events with error descriptions, disconnection events with error descriptions, read/write characteristic events with error descriptions, notification/indication events, GATT discovery events, and system status events. Users can configure the logging settings according to their preferences, enabling them to enable or disable each log event type. Exporting logs as text files via email or text, as well as the ability to save logs to files, is supported.
