Today, Monday, May 13th, filming began in Valencia on Parecido a un asesinato, the new feature film by Antonio Hernández, winner of a Goya Award for the screenplay for En la ciudad sin límites. Filming will take place over six weeks between Valencia and the Huesca Pyrenees.

Blanca Suárez, Eduardo Noriega, Tamar Novas, and newcomer Claudia Mora star in this adaptation of Juan Bolea’s novel of the same name, a disturbing story constructed like a puzzle in which no character has all the pieces, and which only the viewer can solve.

Eva is experiencing a happy time with a new partner, Nazario, a successful writer, and his daughter, Alicia, a teenager with whom she hopes to bond. She finally has a family that will allow her to forget the past. But it won’t be that easy. The horror she suffered with José, her ex-husband, a possessive and violent police officer, returns to threaten her paradise; hiding in the refuge of her childhood will be of no use, nothing will be able to protect her. Marian Álvarez, Raúl Prieto, and Joaquín Climent complete the main cast of this psychological thriller that will provoke great unease, where nothing is what it seems, written by Rafa Calatayud (Puntos suspensivos). Calatayud uses mystery, suspense, and psychological horror to create tension with unexpected twists. Fear, anxiety, dread, and trauma are other elements that spice up this dizzying story.

Parecido a un asesinato is a Sunrise Pictures production, along with AIE and the Argentine Prisma Cine. It has Telespan 2000 (Squirrel Group) as its associate producer, TVE, Prime Video, À Punt, Aragón TV, and Yunit as its sponsor, CREASGR and ICO as its financing, and TuHuesca (Huesca Provincial Council) as its sponsor.

Film Factory Entertainment will handle international sales, while Vértice 360 will be the domestic distributor, with a theatrical release scheduled for 2025.

Follows Biel, one of the residents of the public hospital, who has spent months leaving his skin. He racks up hundreds of watches and thousands of hours that barely leaves him a lifetime. But this is his calling and he is willing to do whatever it takes to become the best doctor. What he does not imagine is that a general strike is going to break out in the hospital without even minimal services. Health workers are forced to make that decision to try to raise awareness among the population about their essential work and to protest all the intolerable cuts that public health is suffering.
