Now I know I want to be more serious, so I figured it was time to change it and delete the pictures 😦 I liked that page though, and it’s still on my photography blog, but it just doesn’t fit with my writing blog anymore. Yes! My dad’s family is from Norway (near Oslo). My mom’s family is from Sweden (skane, smaland, -I don’t know how to do the accent marks on my iphone).
Hi Rachel—I like your blog and have a question for you: How do you like this Hemingway theme? I am going to change mine and have narrowed down my choices to this one and 2014.
I have tried this theme on a test blog and the only thing that I don’t like is the way that Hemingway does Pullquotes. I have been unable to insert them in the sides of posts, they just end up centered between paragraphs.

Well I don’t know what pullquotes are to be honest (I’m fairly new to wordpress/blogging), So I can’t comment on that, but I do like the Hemingway theme.
I really only have one complaint, and that is when I view my page on an iPad, my top post and the side widgets overlap for some reason, so it looks jumbled and messed up. I’ve been considering changing to a new theme because of it.
But I do like that I can choose a background color and my own header photo for free; that’s one of the reasons I haven’t changed yet. That and I like how the Hemingway theme is arranged and haven’t found one I like better.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Your idea about checking the theme on a mobile device is a good one and something that I will definitely do in the future.
As for pullquotes—they are the ones that are inserted into a post on the edges, or centered in the text, and the main body wraps around them. It is something that I like to do from time to time.
I setup a free test blog to download and try out various themes. I copied some of my favorite posts into it and added a few new ones to try out the editing styles. That was when I ran into the pullquote situation—minor stuff in the long-term.

Are you working on a B.A. or an M.A.? As someone with experience in higher ed. and a couple of degrees in English, I might be able to give you some career advice.
Still working on a B.A. Although everything is on hiatus right now since we currently can’t afford daycare/preschool for the kiddo so I have had to stop taking classes until she gets into first grade (next year).
And as a student with loans, I would take any career advice I could get!
