Created for World Food Day (16 October 2025) - which was also FAO’s 80th anniversary - the spot is a poetic reflection on food as life, memory, identity, and inherited knowledge, affirming it as a fundamental human right and a pathway towards more inclusive and sustainable food systems.

The video forms part of FAO’s ongoing communications work to galvanise governments, civil society, and global citizens - including young people - around food systems transformation. It achieved a remarkable 10.5 million views across social media platforms.

The voices of Rampling and Wilson, in both English and French, bring a strong cultural dimension to the film, extending its global reach and emotional resonance.

Lambert Wilson said he was proud to contribute to the project: “It's always a privilege to lend my voice to FAO’s messaging. On its 80th anniversary, it felt especially meaningful to support an organisation that defends something as essential as food for all.”

The award recognises FAO’s use of creative storytelling to advance awareness and action on food security, sustainable agriculture, and climate resilience through emotionally resonant narratives.

This year’s Deauville Green Awards, held at the Fondation GoodPlanet, brought together international filmmakers, institutions, and environmental communication professionals for a programme dedicated to responsible audiovisual production, including AI in filmmaking, ocean protection, and impact storytelling.
