TOLEDO, Ohio – Toledo Softball head coach Jessica Bracamonte announced the hiring of Kayla Noch as an assistant coach for the Rockets on Friday. Noch comes to Toledo after serving as Duke University's softball director of operations since July of 2021 and is the first assistant coach Bracamonte has hired.
"One of the most important things you will do as a head coach is build your staff, which is why I am very pleased to announce the addition of Kayla to our Toledo Softball family," Bracamonte said. "I have had the privilege of working with Kayla in different capacities throughout my coaching career, and I am excited to take on this next chapter with her. I am thrilled to watch her contribute to the elevation of our program in meaningful and impactful ways on and on off the field.
"Kayla is a bright, hard-working, motivated, and passionate individual whose character is unmatched. She is driven by her desire to impact the lives of young women through service and a holistic approach to their development as people. Kayla will lead the development of our infield and catchers, while also assisting with overall team defense, offense, and in-game strategy. She knows what it takes to compete and succeed in the MAC, and I looking forward to her bringing that experience to our program."
Noch was a third baseman and catcher for Central Michigan under Bracamonte from 2016-19. After graduation, Noch stayed connected to the game as a coach and instructor while pursuing a career in digital marketing. When the director of operations position opened at Duke, Bracamonte knew Noch would excel in the role and help the program succeed. During her time with the Blue Devils, Noch managed day-to-day practice operation logistics, as well as all travel logistics for the team, supported marketing & social media efforts, game day promotions, and fundraising.Â
"I want to start by thanking Toledo Athletics and vice president and director of athletics Bryan Blair for this amazing opportunity," Noch said. "I also want to thank coach Bracamonte for believing in me to help build the culture and vision she has for the future of the Toledo Softball program. Along each part of my softball journey that I have been fortunate enough to cross paths with Jess, she has pushed me to be a better athlete, leader and person. Her passion and standards for excellence in everything she does is contagious and will undoubtedly be reflected in our program. It is an honor to be a part of it, and I can't wait to be back in the MAC."
Prior to her time at Duke, Noch spent one year as a digital content coordinator for Known Advertising, where she supported the overall marketing and advertising strategies through paid media to improve brand awareness, conversions, and customer loyalty. Her daily tasks included updating blog posts, troubleshooting, scheduling out social media posts, and analyzing paid media campaigns.
As a student-athlete, Noch was a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree and NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete. She was a member of SAAC for three years, was selected by CMU's athletic director to represent the university at the Emerging Leader Council, and was a Bill Boyden Award nominee.
Noch earned her bachelor's degree in marketing & logistics from CMU in 2019.
