ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio softball head coach Jenna Hall announced today the addition of three-time All-American Lilli Piper as an assistant coach.Â
Â
"I am thrilled to have Lilli joining our staff here at Ohio," Hall said. "She brings such a great combination of skills and intangibles to our program. Not only was Lilli successful at the collegiate level, but she also continues to excel at the highest level professionally. She is a competitor, a winner and has the softball IQ to teach the game. Lilli brings the fun, and I am excited to have her energy and passion for the game in our program. Our players will feed off her enthusiasm and want to learn from her."Â
Â
Piper comes to Ohio after spending last season as a volunteer coach at Michigan State, where she worked primarily with the infield. Piper is also currently playing professionally with Athletes Unlimited. Â
Â
"I'm excited to get into Athens and meet all the girls," Piper said. "I am thankful for the opportunity that Coach Hall is giving me to continue to be a part of softball. I can't wait to be a Bobcat."
Â
Piper played three seasons at Ohio State where she played for Hall. During her three seasons with the Buckeyes, Piper was a three-time NFCA All-American, three-time First Team All-Midwest Region selection, three-time First Team All-Big Ten, three-time First Team Academic All-Big Ten and was a Big Ten All-Defensive Team selection.Â
Â
Piper, playing primarily at third, helped lead Ohio State to three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances and hit a single season program record 20 homeruns in 2018.Â
Â
Piper began her college career at Akron where she was a two-sport athlete, playing basketball and softball.Â
Â
Piper graduated from Ohio State in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Ecology and Education.Â
