Nothing More, Nothing Less, Nothing Else

Lord, open my eyes that I may see truth and my ears to hear truth.
Open my heart to receive it by faith.
Renew my mind to keep it in hope.
Surrender my will that I may live it with love.
Remind me that I am responsible when I hear it.
Help me desire to obey what You say through it.
Transform my life that I may know it.
Burden my heart that I may share it.
Speak now Lord.
Give me a passion to know Your will.
Nothing more, nothing less, nothing else.

Jesus Took Our Sins On Himself

“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NKJV)
“Jesus took our sins on Himself; His death took the penalty that our sins deserved. And, wonder of wonders, God then credited the righteousness of Jesus to us! With sin paid for, there was no longer a barrier between human beings and God. With Jesus’ own righteousness credited to our account, we are welcome to enter God’s presence.” — Lawrence Richards, The Bible
“Surely our griefs He Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us had turned to his own way; but the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him.” Isaiah 53:4-6 (NASB)

God Will Lead

“For You are my rock and my fortress;
For Your name’s sake You will
lead me and guide me.”
Psalm 31:3 (NASB)
God has led. This is history’s testimony. Looking back over lives, we can see how beautifully, wonderfully, lovingly God has led. “As for me, the LORD has led me,” testified the servant of Abraham (Gen. 24:27).
God will lead. This is the testimony of doctrine. The Scriptures teach it by precept and example throughout Old and New Testaments. The Word of God declares it to be so. Looking ahead–before the need, before the crunch–we can testify that God will lead.
God is leading! This is the testimony of faith, where the rubber meets the road. God has promised to lead, and I seek to be lead–an unbeatable combination. God’s promise, my submission. -Richard Halverson
