Executive Director

Kate Potter is the Executive Director of the Canadian Biosphere Regions Association (CBRA), where she leads national efforts to strengthen the impact, visibility, and collaboration of Canada’s UNESCO biosphere regions. Kate works closely with the 19 Canadian biosphere regions to advance place-based sustainability, support Indigenous leadership, and champion integrated approaches to conservation and sustainable development. She brings a deep commitment to connecting people with the landscapes they call home and ensuring biosphere regions continue to serve as living models for a more sustainable, resilient future.

Kate lives on the shores of Lake Ontario approximately 1.5 hours east of Toronto between the Frontenac Arch and Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Regions. She considers herself extremely fortunate to work with such an amazing group of dedicated and innovative people and sites.
