Our Projects

What is a project shipment?

Technically speaking a shipment becomes a project when the cargo needs to be dismantled and transported using various methods of shipment but over the years it has taken on a broader meaning that covers the transportation of large, complex, or high-value pieces of equipment, including break bulk shipments, that can move by land, sea, or air. This process involves single or multiple shipments with the help of cranes, trucks, rail, planes, and ships. Furthermore, project cargo tends to have a specific time-frame or specified delivery date that makes these shipments some of the most complex and detailed projects in the entire logistics industry.
Despite being one of Europe’s biggest and best Ro/Ro forwarders, Big Apple really enjoy project logistics and these have always been one of Pete’s favourite aspects from thirty years of freight forwarding.
Being a smaller company allows us to keep the flow of information strong from start to finish, you will always have a consistent point of contact to speak with and keep you in the loop, making your project management more efficient than ever.
We are more than happy to sit down and discuss upcoming projects in advance, sometimes 1-2 years when it comes to the really large projects and we are also ready to pick up the ball and run at very short notice.
We can bespoke the project to suit your needs and decide in advance how much or how little the customer wants to be kept in the loop. Sometimes the customer wants the cargo moving with very little feedback but some customers want daily or weekly catch-ups via video conferencing from several locations all at once. You tell us what you need and we will tailor a solution to suit your specific needs.
Project shipments go best when the customer is clear in what they expect from the shipment and when the forwarder listens to those needs.
We have a proven track record of performing time and time again for various customers globally, from difficult L/C driven OOG imports originating in the Far East and terminating in Northern Ireland to some of the worlds largest production cranes being dismantled in South Africa and shipped via private charter break-bulk to The Netherlands at very short notice and against very tight budgetary deadlines.
If you ever want to discuss upcoming projects or even review older projects to see where improvements can be made, we don’t charge for the consultation so why not reach out and see if we really can make your life so much easier.
We are here to take the stress out of project shipping.
