From Idea to Project

Pitch Lab 2026 of Beyond Borders | Kastellorizo International Documentary Festival

For the seventh consecutive year , we are excited to continue and extend the Visio-Pitching Lab of Beyond Borders International Documentary Film Festival held in Kastellorizo, Greece between August 23-30, 2026. The objective is to offer young and upcoming filmmakers the opportunity to present their basic idea to an experienced panel of decision-makers working in the global documentary arena. Those who are offered the opportunity to pitch their idea will receive professional feedback in how to turn an idea into a valid project. It will greatly assist in the search for partnerships, subsidies, development and/or production funds.

Each Pitch runs for 15 minutes, with 6 minutes to present the idea, and 6 minutes for questions and discussion with the film industry experts and 3 minutes for the statent of the Jury. Candidates will please submit their idea on the present application form. There is no submission fee. Deadline for submission is May 15 2026. Selected candidates will be informed latest by June 15. They must be available on zoom during the Lab’s dates (26-27 of August 2026). The Information required is as follows:
