Bentley FlowMaster V8i, developed by Bentley Systems, is a stand-alone hydraulic design and analysis application for element-level stormwater and open-channel work. It uses calculator-style worksheets to evaluate and size pipes, culverts, channels, inlets, gutters, weirs, and orifices—letting you solve for any unknown by specifying the others. The software supports widely accepted methods and equations, including Manning’s for open-channel flow, Hazen-Williams and Darcy-Weisbach for pressurized pipes, FHWA procedures for culverts, and HEC‑22 for inlet capacity and gutter spread. Engineers can rapidly iterate designs, check existing installations, and produce rating curves, design charts, and clear tabular or graphical reports. FlowMaster accommodates both U.S. customary and SI units and is well suited to roadway drainage, site development, culvert selection, and general hydraulic checks on municipal storm systems. As part of Bentley’s V8i generation, it runs on Windows and complements network-based modeling tools by focusing on fast, accurate, component-level hydraulics.
