EPEI
Game Designer, Programmer
Both EPEI is a straight forward platformer game, which challenges the player to find their way through various level of “Evil Purple Villains Incorporated.” As a platformer it is simplistic due to the fact that I created it entirely in my spare time time. EPEI was developed prior to any formal training and I entirely self taught (with help from youtubers, particularly Brackeys) the coding required to make these work. EPEI was featured as part of my NFTS application.
EPEI’s key mechanics are jumping and attacking. The game challenges the player and requires them to both solve the puzzles of different levels and test their mechanics to get through some unforgiving level design. I am particularly pleased with the 2 player, combat mode which I developed. Considering at what stage in my game development career I was when I made EPEI I am pleased with the result.

The Adventures of Red Sphere
Level Designer, Programmer
Much like EPEI, I made The Adventures of Red Sphere, prior to any training in my own time, the inspiration was very clearly from Brackey’s online tutorial about making a game. However I took the concept he made and developed it much further.
The game features multiple levels, and new mechanics which Brackey’s tutorial did not cover. This game is incredibly straight forwards and it’s mechanics are easy to learn, but I am pleased with both the level design and the degree to which I pushed myself to expand and develop the base concept.

Ax-Tract
Sound Designer
Ax-Tract is game created during a week long game jam. It requires the player to help a pair of Axolotls make it safely to their home.
On this game I was the sound designer. Towards this end I used free sounds from a variety of websites and edited them in Audacity in order to have them fit the design and aesthetic of our game.

A Common Shrew
Game Designer and Specifically head programmer.
This game was developed over the course of 36 hours as part of a game jam. The theme was “This game jam is the TYPING JAM. You will be allocated a team to create an action game whose central mechanic is based on typing via the keyboard.” Our team developed a game where a shrew must attempt to survive using echolocation and avoid the perils of being a small and vulnerable creature.
On this game I was lead programmer and one of three game designers. But I led as senior on programming.

Not My Fault
Game Designer and Programmer
Created in three days for the Themed Horror Jam. I was the programmer for a team of six. Not My Fault is a narrative point and click adventure game with some minigame puzzles, in which you play as someone going through an endless cycles as they deal with the trauma of their past.
