My last DB ever, most likely, so I'm happy to have ended on a high note. What follows beneath the cut is not much of a report, just a few random scraps, but the gist of it is: Kame manages to impress me more than anyone else on the planet on a regular basis, and someone really needs to give Miyata his own stage show. I'd even pay to see it.

This is the only post I'm making today, so...congratulations to Akanishi Jin and Kuroki Meisa on the birth of their little girl! ^_^ I am not into kids but I wish them the best of luck.
Meanwhile! Today was the last day of TOKIO's 1718 live tour, which I attended with
floinvietnam. They were recording and broadcasting it in cinemas across Japan, and I didn't take my notebook out, just scribbled down a couple of things afterwards. So here are a few snippets so I don't forget!

I don't imagine anyone who isn't on my f-list actually reads these anymore, but just in case, the usual applies: feel free to link, quote, translate etc.
Well, according to my LJ it's been almost exactly a year since I last went to see a performance of Dream Boys, and this is probably the last year for me. The show might well go on, but it'll do so without me. (Priorities, you know?) After all these years I have finally managed to get to the theatre by a consistent route, which is quite possibly a sign that it's time to move on.
Which is not to say I didn't enjoy my first round of this year's show; in fact, I'd almost consider picking up a third ticket for Miyata and Senga alone! And Kame is, of course, my high-flying god. But as with last year, I'm limited in who I can identify outside the main cast, so if you're reading for the Juniors, you might as well stop here. (Though I can tell you that Ishigaki Daisuke is as lovely as ever.)
I have no memory, an inability to read my own terrible handwritten scrawl (as done in a darkened theatre), and I got kind of sidetracked watching Kame, but if you're prepared for all that, read on!

Dear Psycho Fangirls Who Slammed Me into a Door and Tried to Crush My Right Hand,
Thank you for making what should've been a fantastic night into an extremely painful one. It is not acceptable to try to kill people at a concert, no matter how much you like the performer you're there to see. Please learn to be aware of your surroundings, and of people other than yourselves. I hope you all suffer a slow, painful death in the middle of your worst nightmare, you immature, inconsiderate hellcats.
No love, but a whole lot of hate,
A tiny English girl with very sore arms and shoulders
-----
I know the above won't apply to anyone reading this, but I feel better for venting. Pain aside, I had a great final show! :-)

Oh, guys, where do I start? This wasn't the best Jin concert I've been to; not by a long shot. But the evening had the best start and by far the best ending. After all, it's not every day a girl has Jin asking her for a hug.

Getting in a public service announcement at the same time here to say that I'm flying home tomorrow, so will be incommunicado until some time Sunday night/Monday morning.

Before anyone asks why I went to this,
ina and I decided we might as well try for it because a) Fujigaya and Tamamori were supposed to be guesting and b) J-ticket international was selling the tickets, so we could pay legal prices. This is my second experience with them and my goodness, have they improved. Second row in the stands...when there isn't a first row, and just four rows of parent and child seats between you and the walkway. Now why couldn't they have given me seats like that for Jin?

Last Dream Boys of the year for me. :-( It's been a good run, and has confirmed to me without a doubt that the following things are true: Nakamaru's life is hard, Koki should always be blond, Kame's just too amazing to be human (I guess now he's a youkai) and KAT-TUN are completely and utterly insane.
Have some more bullet points.

This one's not really a report - just some random notes to help me remember - so I'm not linking it anywhere. I have to say, DB is extra-entertaining with
pithetaphish whispering stuff in my ear. ^_^ Nothing new, really; I only noted down things I missed last time, or thought were different. I watched some of the show through binoculars, but passed them over to Lauren for Nakamaru and 1582. Have a series of bullet points.

As usual, feel free to quote, translate, link etc.
Disclaimer: My Junior identification skills are not very good, so there are a lot of places where I've written 'one of the Kansai Juniors' rather than a name. The only people I actually knew in this were A.B.C-Z, Nakama Junta and Kiriyama Akito, but that's more than enough of a reason to go. Since I can't see Kawai and co. in this year's Dream Boys, I wanted to see them in Shounentachi. (They're also a hell of a lot cheaper...)

Let me start with a couple of disclaimers. I arrived in Japan yesterday (2011/09/09), am working on little sleep and a lot of jet lag, and I wasn't here for DB2009 so I can't comment on anything that happened then - though there were an awful lot of changes from 2007/2008. I apologise to those of you on my f-list who love Juniors because now that everyone who used to do the show is either no longer a Junior or is doing Shounentachi at the moment, the only one I recognise from the cast is Juri (and he was hard to miss). I took 32.5 sides of notes, but as I can't read half of what I've written, as per usual, they may not relate to what I actually type. Plus Kame was really, really distracting.
Also, for some reason I emerged from the theatre with an overwhelming love for Koki, but more on that later.

I decided to follow Vix and Aya's example and open a separate LJ for sales - makes it easier to split everything up into categories! Since I put up the sales post here a few weeks ago, my brother decided he wanted to get rid of some stuff too (hence the sudden increase in shounen manga in the posts) and I've decided it's time to part ways with some of my BL manga, which I haven't touched in years and will probably never look at again.
