Dear yuletide author,
First off, thank you so much for writing for me! I’m so excited to read any of these fandoms, so anything you are willing to write in them in already tops in my book.
My optional details are probably kind of random/rambling, ( so here are my general likes/dislikes & some more specific things for The X-Files RPF, Happy Endings, and The Office RPFCollapse )

fandom/pairing: Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Buffy/Spike
rating: PG-13 (this part)

setting: goes wildly AU before the end of “Anne”
summary: In which Buffy and Spike meet again in L.A., form a rock band, flirt, fight, make up, and make out.
a/n: I wouldn't normally post this as a WIP, but my posting day kind of snuck up on me before I had a chance to finish the whole thing. More parts coming soon! Written for seasonal-spuffy.

Dear Yuletide Author,
First of all, thank you SO MUCH for writing for me! You are already one of my favorite people in the world for writing any of these fandoms, and I’m sure I will love whatever you come up with. I wasn’t sure how detail-y to get in the sign-ups (this is my first Yuletide!), but hopefully if I wasn’t specific enough, this will help a bit.
( Okay, on to some general likes and dislikes, as well as fandom-specific stuff:Collapse )

So I wanted to write one more fic for
seasonal_spuffy before this round ended, but RL has not been conducive to anything that requires long bursts of focus or creativity. Instead, I decided to finish up this Spike/Buffy mix that I've had sitting about half-done in my iTunes since forever.
It's basically my soundtrack to Buffy and Spike’s relationship (from Spike’s POV) starting in season five once Spike decides he’s in love with Buffy and then going on through the rest of their on-show relationship (with a heavy emphasis on s6-esque songs because that's currently my favorite season due to all of the angst and makeouts).

Title: Our secret flares
Fandom/Pairing: Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Buffy/Spike
Rating: NC-17, just to be safe
Words: 9,543
Summary: Buffy and Spike go on a stakeout. Sexy hijinks ensue.
A/N: This is post-s8, but specific knowledge of the comics definitely isn’t necessary for this fic. If the comics aren't your scene, you can just think of this as a general post-series story that’s set in San Francisco. Written for

Title: the feeling of being in motion again
Fandom/Pairing: Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Buffy/Spike
Rating: R
Words: 9,710
Summary: Spike shakes his head and sighs, and Buffy swirls her fork through the pools of syrup on her plate, vaguely wondering how she got here, house hunting with a vampire at a rundown Denny’s and enjoying pretty much every minute of it.
A/N: This is takes place post-S8, so knowledge of the comics would be good. If you're not familiar with them, all that really matters for this fic is that Buffy’s had a rough year, she’s living in San Francisco with Xander and Dawn, and Spike’s there, too.

Heyyyy, internet. Long time no see.
First of all, thank you so much to those of you who commented on my last post <3 <3 <3. You guys are seriously the best. I’m sorry I didn’t respond to everyone (anyone) and then kind of dropped off the face of the lj-planet, but it has been QUITE a stressful summer. Luckily, things are calming down and L is doing much, much better. He’s basically got one more chemo treatment and then year of “surveillance” before the doctors pronounce everything all ship-shape, but most of the really terrible stuff is over. (Except August is going to suuuuuuuck much like July did, only that the doctor said it’ll actually be worse. BLERG.)
Also, super-special thanks to
lormats for the v-gift. Lau, I am pretty sure you are the nicest, sweetest person on the planet ♥ ♥
Second, I have apparently decided to get really, REALLY into Buffy the Vampire Slayer again? IDEK you guys. I was hardcore obsessed with this show for a while and then totally lost interest and now it’s OMG ALL I CARE ABOUT. I’m even writing fic! For the first time in months. For a show that’s been off the air for almost ten years. Haha. Oh, fandom brain. You are so strange.
Third, I’m going to do those Top fives many of you wonderful people left, but doing them batches rather than all at once because that would be boring for everyone.
For
ozmissage: ( Top five season finalesCollapse )

For

For

Pairing: Castle/Beckett
Rating: PG
Words: 2,123

So, just a quick update to say that:
1) Elizabeth Mitchell on SVU was totally, amazingly great (and, also, super-pretty, even all matronly and non-made up). The whole show was surprisingly good, not too many twists or turns and not a single monkey in a basketball in sight. I enjoyed it all, really -- except for that how watching that show reminded me of how much I used to love Benson/Stabler and now I kind of don't even care about them at all, which makes me kind of sad.
2) The Good Wife remains awesome in every way (although, ugh, Peter annoys me more and more every time he's onscreen; to be honest, though, I'm not sure how much of it is Peter and how much of it is Chris Noth -- I just hate that guy's face, for some reason)
3) I swear I haven't forgotten about that make-out meme I posted last week, but my computer is currently unusable, which makes actually writing a little tricky. Every time I use it for more than 10 minutes or so, the screen goes completely gray (or white, depending on what kind of mood it's in, I guess?) and so I haven't been able to go online at all really. Or write anything. Or do any of the fun online things I like to do.
Right now I'm using this ancient Dell laptop of L's and I haaaaaate it. The keyboard is all tiny and weird and it's really frustrating to type on so I avoid using it at all costs. I'm finally going to get to the Apple store this weekend so hopefully they can fix my computer, but probably it's going to have to be shipped away to get fixed, which means ANOTHER non-computer week. UGH.
In closing: TV continues to be my best friend, computers are the worst, and the make-out prompts you guys left were stellar and I've got a head full of ideas about them. And as soon as I get my computer up and running again, the fictional making-out will commence.

You guys, I just finished season 2 of Castle and I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I don't even know what happened because for most of s1 (which I started something like 6 months ago and then just finished last week) I was all, "Eh, it's okay I guess." And then I started s2 last week and finished it today and I am in the process of downloading s3 and it is taking too long for real. I NEED TO WATCH MORE RIGHT NOW. Plus, word on the street is that s3 is even better and I am just about dancing around with excitement over here.
Anyway, in order to distract me while I wait for the download, I decided to steal this meme from
lowriseflare because fictional characters making out is just about my favorite thing in the world:
Pick a pairing from any fandom/rpf, and come up with a location and/or situation, and I will write you commentfic about the kiss that happened in that context.

So, over at
lost_land they're doing a big bang challenge. Originally, I was going to do the next part of the Dharma Years fic for that, but...yeah. That didn't happen.
Instead, I did this to finish up the points I needed: a sideways-fic and accompanying mix, both inspired by a prompt
gemini_ep gave me about a million years ago for James/Juliet, based on the Ryan Adams cover of "Wonderwall."
Anyway: mix first, fic right below that.

In the event V gets renewed for another season (which, I know, is just about the least probable thing in the world), I don't think I can stick with it. ( UGH; major, major spoilers for the finaleCollapse )
In other news, I'm on Spring Break this week and have used much of my time to catch up on TV shows I haven't ever seen. I have many feelings on them, but they can be summed up thusly:
(+) True Blood is utterly trashy and absurd, but I kind of love it anyway (mostly because of Eric, who I find dreamy)
(+) Season 2 of Castle is much better than Season 1, although I'm not really sure why
(+) Miranda is a COMPLETE AND UTTER DELIGHT

Dear V,
Your CGI is kind of embarrassing and most of your plot lines are ridiculous, but you do drunken, inappropriate comfort sex SO WELL, I just -- I honestly don't care about all of the not so great things you do.
Please just make sure to have Erica take off her shirt every week. Bonus points if she's got the ponytail and is unbuckling someone's pants (Hobbes was ideal, but honestly I'd probably fine with anyone at this point). Every week. Just like tonight.
Love,
bayloriffic
(ps. I SINCERELY hope someone out there is working on gifs, icons, etc etc etc)

So. How about those V spoilers for the next episode?
I am obvs super-excited for incredibly shallow reasons, but I also really like the direction this seems to be taking Erica's character. From some of the comments I've read in various places, this...is not a popular opinion. But I adore it and here's why: ( spoilers for the next episode only; warning, may be slightly tl;drCollapse )
