Battery 3 is a lithium-focused Australian-Finnish exploration company aiming to support the development of an independent, self-sufficient and transparent EU battery value chain.
Why Europe?
Europe is becoming increasingly aware that an independent supply of lithium is required to support an integrated battery value chain. This will reduce reliance on imports from China, Australia, and South America, which expose the EU to geo-political instability and supply chain disruptions. Following, EU investment in Battery Gigafactories will drive the further development of the upstream battery value chain.

Securing de-carbonised, ESG transparent and reliable battery production will be dependent on the ability to develop lithium projects within Europe.

Reservation Areas
The Noronkorpi, Eräjärvi and Sundvik Regions in the west, Kurkivaara, Lökkiö and Pykälä Regions in the east were identified as areas of interest, after the team conducted a detailed study using Finnish GTK Data.
Small reservation footprints were prioritised to minimise local stakeholder impact, preserve areas of natural beauty and avoid Natura 2000 conservation areas.
Northern regions were intentionally avoided in to avert disruption to First Nations People and Native Reindeer Migration.
The Kurkivaara, Lokkio and Pykala regions were chosen due to prospective geological potential & presence of LCT pegmatites.
