About me
I am an electonics-engineer from Switzerland and I love to create and design things both professionally and as a hobby. Over the past couple of years I did a lot of big and small projects involving mostly electronics but also some mechanical and electromecanical things. I finally decided to create a Blog so I can share my designs on my own site instead of spreading them out on different public sites like instructables or hackaday.
I do own a neat collection of electronics equipment for building and analyzing electronics designs as well as a 3D printer (Reprap Huxley) and various hardware tools so I can pretty much build anything I like.
If I ever need to laser-cut parts I just head over to the FabLab around the corner where I also participate as a labmanager.
About the name
A ‘Bäschteler’ (swiss german, pronounced ‘bashtelor’) is the personification of the word ‘bäschtele’ from the German word ‘basteln’ which means ‘to hand-craft’ but also to ‘to tinker’. Combined with the ‘of Science’ it is indended as a mockery of the original term ‘Bachelor of Science’.
