The group has its offices in Centurion, South Africa as well as national distribution centres in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and in Gaborone, Botswana. It also has a service office in the London. The company has grown exponentially which led us to start franchising in 1998. We have been continually expanding and have become a household name the world over ever since. Our quick service restaurants specialize in the traditional way of serving healthy and spicy flame grilled chicken, prepared as authentically as it was mastered by the Portuguese chefs hundreds of years ago. The recipes we use for our meals and sauces have been passed down through generations and are still our best kept secrets. Our original flavour is unsurpassed and after centuries, still satisfies the most discerning palate. The current trend towards healthy living and the demand for affordable fast food is driving this successful recipe. Besides a humble story, it is important that one discovers the unique taste and experience of the Barcelos concept through its history and roots of the origin to truly enjoy the magic of Barcelos. Re-telling of the legend varies, offering different versions, Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken has written a singularly modern story of its own. As with any journey that starts out with one small step, Barcelos opened its first store in Pretoria, South Africa in 1993. Using recipes mastered by the Portuguese hundreds of years ago, our flame grilled flavours became so popular that we franchised the business in 1998. Since then we have opened outlets in 16 countries including SA, Lesotho, Botswana, Zambia, Namibia, Mozambique, Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan, Canada, UK, Dubai, Oman, Mauritius, Singapore, and now in India. In India , we have already introduced wide range of products which are served for the first time in the country .
