I realize that following this week, as I finish up playing The Suffering, I will remain unsatisfied. Do you know why? Because everybody else will be playing Doom 3. Yes. I went to Dave's tonight and watched him bask in it's over-clocking, graphically overloading glory. Not to mention the monsters are freakin' awesome. Who else would have thought to put upside down skeleton heads on spiders? Alas, I do not own an Xbox or an actual desktop PC that could handle such marvel. Anyone out there want to let me borrow either gaming machine? I'll contribute a copy of Doom 3, yours to keep as soon as I'm finished.

Could you tell I just watched a Doom series documentary on Tech Tv?

"...If anyone thinks that Christians regard unchastity as the supreme vice, he is quite wrong. The sins of the flesh are bad, but they are the least bad of all sins. All the worst pleasures are purely spiritual: the pleasure of putting other people in the wrong, of bossing and patronising and spoiling sport, and back-biting, the pleasures of power, of hatred...the Diabolical self is the worse...That is why a cold, self-righteous prig who goes regularly to church may be far nearer to hell than a prostitute..." - C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity, 103

I'm going to start going to church again & reading my bible. Haven't done it in awhile.

as reality sets in....cancun. [01 Aug 2004|08:59pm]
[ mood | annoyed ]

I'm back & I've got hella pictures !! -- CLICK HERE FOR HOT PR0N -- !! (they're at geocities because Allie's FTP is sucking ass right now). Cancun was better the second time around, except I was a little perturbed that there wasn't room service like at the Sun Palace. Yes, I did drink alcohol. No, I did not get drunk. Yes, I smoked Cuban cigars. Yes, I enjoyed them. I am also a shade or two darker and I went swimming with the dolphins (again.) I also went "bar hopping" (I went on a tour of the most popular clubs downtown), which I will get into if you ask me because otherwise I don't feel like story telling. Basically, Dave & I left early because a) some drunk dipwad burned my arm with his cigarette, then wouldn't stop apologizing and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys (not that I have anything against them, it's just very annoying the 20th time around...) and b) well...I don't think I'm quite ready for the "night life" as you all like to call it, especially because Dave & I were sore from Waverunning (Jet Skiing, whatever) and horribly sun-burned. In conclusion, I wish I could've stayed a little longer, but alas, back to reality. Stupid, stupid, reality.

where i'm staying.

i have one day left & i leave for cancun.
i hear it will be thunderstorming while we are there.
so i'm a little pissed and i wonder if that will ruin our fun.
i probably won't get a tan, either. :/
please pray for an enjoyable time.

going to church is really helping,
i didn't think it would, but it does.
ps - i don't hate dave's church anymore. :)
pss - but that doesn't mean I'm changing denominations just yet,
I've still got a lot to learn about the church I grew up in,
before i decide to switch.

i'm going to work now. ugh.

YOU AND I ARE ARE MORTAL, BUT ROCK & ROLL WILL NEVER DIE. [23 Jul 2004|10:04am]
Last night was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. Granted, Reel Big Fish's antics were similar to that of the DVD, but alas, I was enamoured. Beautiful, Beautiful!

Well, let me start by saying that being the only female in the group, I was perhaps the most practical in suggesting we leave at 4:30. Oh, but no. My darling David decided working on his chain mail for an extra 15 minutes would be more productive. And then we went to pick up Tyler, we made a stop at Longs Drugs, another one at McDonalds, and then we picked up Chris, and hit the rush hour traffic. We arrived an hour after the concert started and then spent an extra 15 minutes finding parking. Because of our ridiculous rendevous, we ended up missing Suburban Legends (who, thankfully, played for Jenoah) and part of Lucky Boys Confusion.

At least LBC played the songs I wanted. I heard "Sunday Morning" and "Hey Driver"...but they disappointed me by having their lead singer be the only participant in the accapela portion of the song. Afterwards we met up with Ryan & Kevin, and Catch 22 played. They have great charisma (& they ended up playing 9mm & a three piece suit), & then came RxBandits, who by the way were so stoned I wasn't surprised that they didn't do much crowd talking. After their set, a pick randomly flew at Dave's chest and I ended up keeping it. So, anyone want an RxBandits pick? ;)

And, well, there's no point in saying anything about Reel Big Fish, because you all know how freakin' awesome they are. I used the quality digital camera last night so enjoy - stupid pictures for stupid peopleCollapse )

Ah, yes. I also have a video :X of Aaron Barret's awesome solo during "Rock & Roll is Bitchin'". So, if you're interested, go ahead and click here to see it, or right click on the link and "Save As...". (It's a rather large file so I suggest saving it to your hard drive). You'll need Apple Quicktime to view the file.

edit - the godforsaken file won't upload completely to the directory, so if you're that desperate just IM me, i'll direct connect it to ya!

- the boys and i are talking about some boys wearing tight pants -
me: yeah when I went to see motion city soundtrack, i saw a lot of scene guys does hand motion we do when we say the word scene with tight pants and i'm just wondering...how do they survive?
chris: what do you mean?
me: well isn't it discomforting to have your penis all shrugged up like that?
ryan: wait, are you talking about emo boys? in this case, don't you mean vaginas.

so i paraphrased, but it was freakin' hilarious.

if you missed reel big fish tonight, you are going to kick yourself in the ass because it was such an amazing concert! i have pictures and video i'll put up tomorrow. :)

[19 Jul 2004|08:12pm]
I worked out this morning, without any nutrition, and almost blacked out. I didn't do much except go on the bike for awhile and walk a little. It was because of the almost-blacking-out dilemma.

After working out at Jenny's, I ate lunch at Dave's, and then I picked up Jenny and we went to the mall.

I bought a Hello Kitty shirt on clearance from Pac Sun, some 99cent lip gloss, glitter glue, & this ugly t shirt from Old Navy I shouldn't have bought. I'm dissappointed in myself for spending money in the first place. I went to GameStop and bought my brother Driv3r (driver 3, whatever). He payed me back, I was about to buy him Grand Theft Auto III (used) for 8 bucks, but he decided he wanted me to buy him a game he really wanted, he would just have to pay me back...because I don't have 45$ to spare at the moment for anything. I tried bargain shopping today, but whatever, I don't even look good in anything. I don't know why I try to make myself feel better by buying nice clothes. I wish I was beautiful, and fit, and tan like other white girls. I will definately never be happy with my body at this rate. Sometimes I wonder why God couldn't give me a stickly body like those cute scene girls.

So, enough of my bitching about how I can't stand to look at myself in the mirror -- I'm contemplating buying this dress thing at The Gap. The one I tried on was a 4, and fit me well below the bust, but unfortunately, the zipper didn't close when I got up to the chest area. click here to see itCollapse )

They didn't have a 6, so I decided that I would buy the black one when I go to pick up my pay check on Friday. Yes, yes. It's on sale for 20$. I felt bad not being able to wear anything more dressy last night for The Producers, and that's when I realized it was time to switch my style to someone a bit more classy, besides wearing tshirts and jeans in my off times.

Tomorrow I don't want anyone to bother me. I need time at home. I will probably only go work out with Jen for an hour, and then I'm coming home, playing video games, reading, & scrapbooking.

a little reflecting [18 Jul 2004|11:58pm]
[ mood | contemplative ]

Saturday was extremely uneventful. I moped around the house and went to work at 5, and I didn't get off until midnight because on Saturday nights everyone likes to go shopping and rummage through clothing. One woman tried on every single one of the Perfect Shirts that we had up on display and didn't buy a single one, & she had the audacity to leave them in the fitting room. The rack outside of the fitting rooms has a distinct purpose -- it's to make my job easier. But, alas, it's okay because I worked quite awhile last night which makes up for the fact that I'm not scheduled until I get back from Cancun. I'm praying that someone will want to give me their shift so I can take over.

Today was enjoyable. I woke up at the ungodly hour of 8:30 am and left with Dave's mom for church. I'm becoming more and more comfortable there, and my intense dislike of it is slowly deteriorating. However, i still cannot stand the worship music. It's so cheesy. Any church who uses electric drums should be cited.

The Sunday School kids were wild today, we didn't finish our entire lesson because today was some kind of special service. We started off with a Cheetos gig. The children were to put a shower cap on their head and have it wrapped in duct tape, and then when I said, Go, they were to put the cheetos on the kid with the duct tape head and make a head of cheetos. The lesson today was about temptation, and the kids were instructed not to eat the cheetos.

Unfortunately, we had all of the kids, which were like 30 of them, and they were wild. The group Dave's mom and I are teaching consists of ten K-2nd graders, but we had all the older kids. They were the noisy ones. Anyway, I was told next week will be easier because we'll have our actual age group. What was not easy was having Ryan walk in today to help and then proceed to WRAP ME UP IN DUCT TAPE. All the children laughed at me, and then two little boys emulated Ryan's scheme.

After church, I went to Dave's house, took a nap, came home, showered, and went with Dave's mom, her fiance, and Darren to see The Producers. Best musical I've ever seen, I don't know if I should cross the line and say it was better than The Lion King, but probably not. Okay, it was the 2nd best musical I've ever seen. Mel Brooks is a genius, and I love the satire. It's springtime for Hitler...

Ah. I deleted a lot of what I was going to say. I'll save it for the paper journal.
