As far as what I like in a story, I like well-written characterizations, I love the push/pull of friends who are lovers (although I also love a good origin romance, too), I love angst as long as it works for the characters (and there's some hope at the end - I am a romantic at heart), I love slice of life/quiet fics, and I love fics that give me new insight to these characters I know and love.

Ideas: This film was so wild and hilarious and every single character was a special kind of fucked up and I really just wanted to know more about where they all went after the film ended. I'm fine with any configuration you want with any of the characters - Paul and Carey definitely have some UST they need to fuck about and you know Julie and Ashley definitely talked Carey into a threesome - and if you wanted to write about them winding up in a weird polycule, go for it. And if you wanted to include any of Ashley's exes, I would be absolutely cool with that, because they were the best Greek chorus and were all just as fucked up as the core four.


Rock of Ages

Ideas: This movie was eighteen shades of RIDICULOUS fun and at the rock and roll beating heart of it all was the utterly magnificent, beautifully tragic Stacee Jaxx. I love that he's this crazy mix of Jim Morrison and Axl Rose and that he's just lost and a little bit crazy and a lyrical genius and this brilliant front man, but he is so fucked up on a personal level he can't even relate to the world or anyone in it and how he slowly climbs out of rock bottom.

I'm so not picky on where you go with this one - you can write a fic about Arsenal's early days, about some crazy drug and orgy-fueled night while the band was on tour, a quiet slice of life story with Stacee having some downtime (possibly with Dennis dropping by, since they're old friends) or a coda to the film with him enjoying his new-found lease on life with Constance. You can write any combination of het, gen, slash, it's all good. (And I think Stacee's tried it all and done it all anyway. *g*) And I'd love for the music to be front and center, because that's the mistress that truly owns him and the only thing I think he truly cares about.

During the tour or post-film is fine, and feel free to include any other characters like William or Leslie (actually, there's so much going on with how Jeff either fucked her to get back at Russell or fucked her to BE close to Russell and either are crunchy af) or the other Stillwater bandmates or the Band-Aids (just, please, no Penny bashing or killing her off - she deserves to live a fabulous life away from Russell's idiocy <3)


Edge of Tomorrow

Ideas: I unabashedly love the hell out of this movie and how it played with narrative conventions and how it upended the notion of the "heroic" arc. And I fell as in love with Rita as Bill did - not just because she's a total badass, but because the film allowed her to be complex and interesting and scared and allowed her to fuck up. She's a fascinating character. And I'd love any and all fics dealing with what life is like for her now that the world's been saved and her services are no longer needed. And how she deals with a man who knows her so intimately that she's just met, and how he has to reintroduce himself to her all over again.

I'd also love a story dealing with Bill's PTSD and how screwed up he has to be from all of the traumas and deaths he's lived through and remembers, and how he's able to move past that. Gen fic is also fine for these two, although I wouldn't complain if they hooked up because they just work together in a beautiful and beautifully fucked up way and Tom & Emily had such amazing chemistry with each other.


Hairspray
Characters: Corny Collines, Motormouth Maybelle

Ideas: This movie is totally one of my happy places, and the interactions between Motormouth Maybelle and Corny Collins are one of the highlights. I love the music & the message & the humor. And I love, love, LOVE, to the depths of my soul, the chemistry between Motormouth Maybelle and Corny Collins. I want them to run off together and start a record company or dance show or, I dunno, something, it doesn't matter, just as long as they're together & fighting the powers that be.


Lords of Dogtown
Characters: Jay, Skip, Stacy, Tony (My gift must feature one or more of my chosen character tags (giver's choice))

Ideas: This is another film where I just wanted more after the credits rolled. I'd love anything dealing with any of these guys (or all of them) learning to navigate fame and infamy and the ways they embraced it (or ran away from it, in Jay's case) and the antagonist-yet-brotherly relationship Tony and Stacy had, and how Skip thought he wanted success but really just wanted to be left alone with his boards, and how they all gained so much but lost this pure joy of just being outsiders and skating together. That last scene of them at the pool really hammered that home. I'm good with anything set during or after the film, and I am literally fine with gen fic or any of the guys getting together with each other, knock yourself out.

Ideas: The film, to me, centered on Kate and Javi's trauma and the ways they both dealt with their trauma and the loss of their team (or, rather, they ways they both ran away from it) and how they learned to confront it and learn to live again and love storm chasing again (with Tyler's help), so I'd love a fic that really dives into the aftermath of the film, and the three of them deciding to go into business together and Kate and Javi dealing with their history while both falling for Tyler and all of the complications that he brings to the table. (Also, Tyler's competency boner for Kate and his respect for Javi is top tier, no notes, we stan a former rodeo champion meteorologist geek who knows what he likes) (I am also not opposed to Javi & Tyler maybe having a hookup/booty call situationship prior to the film and Kate finding out about it and being into it)

As long as you can agree that Alien3 never happened, I'm good with ANY story set in this world. But what I'd really love is Vasquez's back story. How and why she joined the Marines, how she met Drake, why her relationship with Bishop was so fraught with tension, how did she and Hicks become friends, all of it.
I'm also totally cool with any and all post-Aliens Ripley/Hicks fics, and what they do after they leave LV-426 with Newt, and what their lives are like and how they help each other heal from their massive PTSD, and what the family dynamics are like now (and if Ripley and Hicks do get together, and what that looks like.) I also love Bishop, so feel free to include him in any post-Aliens fic!!!

This is one of my ultimate comfort films - I just love how Roy is this perfect combination of slightly unhinged and highly competent, and how he basically fell for June at first sight, and did everything he could to do both protect her and keep her with him. And I love June - how clear-eyed she is and how smart she is, but how lost she was in her own life before Roy came crashing into it, and how awesome her entire character arc was.

I would love anything that deals with their time after the film - perhaps on the road to Cape Horn, Roy and June each dealing with all of the crazy shit that's happened since they met (and Roy realizing that the CIA had been using the hell out of him), Roy finally being reunited with his parents - I mean, anything at all, I'm here for it.

Bless this webcomic for finally FINALLY showcasing Bruce as a Good Chaotic Dad, and for giving us the "kids" as the hilarious and dysfunctional and totally relatable siblings they are. Honestly, I'm perfectly fine with whatever you do here - if it's Dick and Jason on patrol together or Bruce solving a case with that big ass brain of his or Duke adjusting to his new life and his new siblings and their competitive and supportive ways, or any combination of all of the above.

And I know they're not listed as characters (because I could only list 4), but Cass, Steph, Tim and Alfred are ALL totally welcome in this house (as are all members of the JL!!!! Especially Dick's adorable crush on Clark and Jason's adorable crush on Diana :D)


Ocean's Trilogy

Truthfully, I wasn't a big fan of Ocean's 12, so if you want to ignore that one, go for it. But 11 and 13 and 8 are all amazing, so feel free to borrow from those films. I'm good with caper fics, or how Danny and Rusty met fics or getting the band back together fics or the first con Danny and Debbie ever ran together as kids/young adults or Growing Up Ocean (with all of those expectations to be great con artists), or maybe a time Danny and Rusty worked with Debbie and Lou (I'm totally good with the Danny/Rusty and Debbie/Lou pairings, btw), it's all good. And whatever dynamics you want with Danny and the people in his life is fine. I just love the humor and shorthand and the competence kink and the history of the relationships he has with everyone. :) And, a post-Ocean's 8 fic also works (because I totally don't believe for a second that Danny is dead), so if you wanted to write that reunion between Danny and Debbie, feel free. :)


Spy

I love this film an absurd amount - it's so funny and charming and has SO many awesome characters and beats, and since we're never getting the sequel we need and deserve, I would love the fic where Susan and Rick keep running into each other during various missions and falling into bed despite telling themselves (and each other) "we're never doing this again, right".

(But truthfully, any fic with these two in any capacity would be great.)

Not really a fan of the following: Major Character Death, BDSM, watersports, mpreg, rape, a/b/o, and I have a really big problem with fridging the ladies (unless it's actually part of the canon plot) or ignoring them/writing them out of the story to get the male leads together.

Beach Rats

I loved the open nature of how the film ended, but I was left wanting to know what happens next. I like to think that Frankie does some soul-searching about his life and the direction it's going, and I would love to read something that explores Frankie maybe coming out to his mother and dealing with his dad's illness and death, and (hopefully) going into rehab or at least finding himself a good therapist. And I'd love it if the fic included him finding Jeremy to apologize for his actions. (They can get together or not, up to you, but I'm partial to happy or hopeful endings here.)

This show was practically perfect in every single way - Southern to its bones, a brilliant ode to Elmore Leonard, and filled with some of the most interesting characters ever. I just want more of this universe, especially Rachel and Tim - there's still so much we didn't get to learn about both of them (because Raylan and all his drama sucking up the oxygen :D), so anything you write here would be great. (Yes, I do totally clock Tim as queer, but if you don't, that's fine, he's such a rich character even without delving into that subtext!)

(And I know I forgot to list her, but if you want to give me a cameo or even a full story about Loretta, the Pot Queen of Harlan County, I will love you forever)


Luca

I loved every single tiny thing about this film, from the allegory of coming out and being loved and accepted for who you are to the love letter to Italy to the environmental aspects - and I especially loved that it's this sweet ode to first love and found family.

Like just about everyone else, I want Luca and Alberto to wind up together in the end - but I also love Giulia and her determination and drive and would love to see more of her taking on the world with that same spirit (and dragging Luca and Alberto along for the ride :D) and Massimo being the Best Adoptive Dad to Alberto and Luca's family being supportive even if they don't get it (they're a little confused, but they've got the spirit :D)

However you want to roll with this, I'm sure I will love it.


Top Gun

The quintessential 80s movie, and quite possibly one of THE gayest films ever. Seriously, Mav and Ice are the prototypes for Enemies to Friends (to Lovers) and I am 1000000000000% here for it and them in all of their macho, swaggering, reckless, alpha glory.

I'm partial to post-film stories with these two - how they learn to be friends, how that translates into how they fly together and work together, what their competitive streak is like now that it's tempered with grief and maturity and camaraderie, if they stay at Top Gun or if they take combat missions on airline carriers instead, how flying has shaped and molded them, how the Navy has honed them into these brilliant tacticians, the sheer balls and nerves and stubbornness it takes to master flying a fighter jet and how that would translate into a relationship on the ground... just anything at all, really. Ideally, I'd like them to get together by the end, but if your muse takes you in a gen direction, that's fine. I just need more of their story. :)

Also, I know they're not including in my character list, but I adore Charlie and her particular brand of badass and smarts and her relationship with Mav, so if you wanted to include her in any story, please do. The same goes for Carole - I'd love to know how the dynamic between her & Pete changes with that Goose-shaped hole in their lives, and how they navigate around it and get each other through their grief (or do they?)

(And, honestly, just because I never see this, but if you wanted to write any scenes or an entire fic from Ice's POV, that would also be *chef's kiss*)

First off, thank you so much for a) having the awesome taste of sharing at least one of these rare fandoms with me, and b) for agreeing to write in one of these awesome rare fandoms. I can already tell you have THE most excellent taste. :D

As far as who I am and what I like in a story, I like well-written characterizations, I like my men to be well-rounded and three-dimensional, I like my women to be strong and in control of their own lives and wants and needs, and I love the push/pull of friends who are lovers (although I also love a good origin romance, too.) I love angst as long as it's pertinent to who the characters are and not a lazy plot device, I love slice of life/quiet fics as long as it makes sense for the characters, and I love fics that give me new insight to these characters I know and love.

Not really a fan of the following: Major Character Death, BDSM, watersports, mpreg, rape, a/b/o, and I have a really big problem with fridging the ladies (unless it's actually part of the canon plot) or ignoring them/writing them out of the story to get the male leads together.

Now, onto the fandoms and specifics about each one, and please keep in mind that these are only suggestions, and you don't have to use any of these ideas. I promise, I'll love whatever you write, because I know you're writing from the heart and out of the same love for the source material. Also, I LOVE AUs, so don't feel like you have to a be a slave to the canon story, either!!!

Beach Rats

I loved the open nature of how the film ended, but I was left wanting to know what happens next. I like to think that Frankie does some soul-searching about his life and the direction it's going, and I would love to read something that explores Frankie maybe coming out to his mother and dealing with his dad's illness and death, and (hopefully) going into rehab or at least finding himself a good therapist. And I'd love it if the fic included him finding Jeremy to apologize for his actions. (They can get together or not, up to you, but I'm partial to happy or hopeful endings here.)


Edge of Tomorrow

I unabashedly love the hell out of this movie and how it played with narrative conventions and how it upended the notion of the "heroic" arc. And I fell just as in love with Rita as Bill did - not just because she's a total badass, but because the film allowed her to be complex and interesting and scared and allowed her to fuck up. She's a fascinating character. And I'd love any and all fics dealing with what life is like for her now that the world's been saved and her services are no longer needed. And how she deals with a man who knows her so intimately that she's just met, and how he has to reintroduce himself to her all over again.

I'd also love a story dealing with Bill's PTSD and how screwed up he has to be from all of the traumas and deaths he's lived through and remembers, and how he's able to move past that. Gen fic is also fine for these two, although I wouldn't complain if they hooked up.


The Marriage of Aphrodite and Hephaestus (Greek Mythology)

Ah, the (other) Greek Mythology OTP of my heart, let me count the ways I love these two.

I've always adored Hephaestus for the brilliant, talented genius that he is, and how underrated he's always been in the Olympian pantheon. Without him and his gifts and his dedication to his craft, none of the other Olympians would have wielded as much power or gained as much favor from the mortals in their care. But he's so taken for granted, relegated to being almost a pariah among his fellow Gods, and only called upon when one of them want something from him. His loneliness and longing and mental fortitude and emotional openness, even in the face of all he's suffered...how could anyone resist?

And Aphrodite, seriously, was there ever a more willfully misunderstood woman in all of history (except possibly Helen of Troy)? She's so fascinating, and complex, and deserves so much more than to be simply the Hot, Nude Goddess. What must it be like to be the Goddess of Empathy and Love when everyone around her is so duplicitous and so hell-bent on screwing each other over because of some petty slight? How does she possibly stay sane (or does she) when all of her followers and acolytes, and even her family, mistake sexual tension for a lasting bond, and constantly besiege her to "make" someone fall in love with them, as if love is a party favor she can bestow on a whim?

I'm super easy with where you want to go with this - if you want to recount their early days with Hephaestus courting Aphrodite, or their arranged marriage and how they both learned to love each other (and if you wanted to go down the route of having them both be in love with other people - Athena & Ares, specifically - at the start of it and them growing into caring about each other and choosing each other, that's fine, too! They're Gods - fidelity wouldn't be a concept they'd know anything about, not really.)

I'm also fascinated by the idea of a modern variant on their story, and how that would translate, so if you wanted to bring them both into the present day, that's fine too!

Ideally, I'd like them to be happy with each other (and if you want to have them commiserating with Hades and Persephone as the only other Olympian couple with a "normal" and caring marriage, it wouldn't hurt my feelings. :D), but this is Greek Mythology, after all, so if you wanted to go for the tragic or unhappy ending, by all means, feel free.


Rock Of Ages

This movie was eighteen shades of RIDICULOUS fun and at the rock and roll beating heart of it was the utterly magnificent, and beautifully tragic, Stacee Jaxx. I love that he's this crazy mix of Jim Morrison and Axl Rose and that he's just lost and a little bit crazy and a lyrical genius and this brilliant frontman, but he is so fucked up on a personal level he can't even relate to the world or anyone in it.

I'm so not picky on where you go with this one - you can write a fic about Arsenal's early days, about some crazy drug and orgy-fueled night while the band was on tour, a quiet slice of life story with Stacee having some downtime (possibly with Dennis dropping by, since they're old friends) or a coda to the film with him enjoying his new-found lease on life. Het, gen, slash, it's all good. (And I think Stacee's tried it all anyway. :D) And I'd love for the music to be front and center, because that's the mistress that truly owns him and the only thing I think he truly cares about.

And if you want to include Drew as part of Stacee's adoring harem or his one night stand or his boyfriend or roadie or them going out on tour together and Stacee shepherding Drew in the ways of road life and navigating groupies, sound checks, the press, agents and promoters, etc, etc, I would love it.

Ocean's Eleven Trilogy

Truthfully, I wasn't a big fan of Ocean's 12, so if you want to ignore that one, go for it. But 11 and 13 and 8 are all amazing, so feel free to borrow from those films. I'm good with caper fics, or how Danny and Rusty met fics or getting the band back together fics or the first con Danny and Debbie ever ran together as kids/young adults or Growing Up Ocean (with all of those expectations to be great con artists), or maybe a time Danny and Rusty worked with Debbie and Lou (I'm totally good with the Danny/Rusty and Debbie/Lou pairings, btw), it's all good. And whatever dynamics you want with Danny and the people in his life is fine. I just love the humor and shorthand and the competence kink and the history of the relationships he has with everyone. :) And, a post-Ocean's 8 fic also works (because I totally don't believe for a second that Danny is dead), so if you wanted to write that reunion between Danny and Debbie, feel free. :)

43 years old.

My God, he was so fucking young. He had so many stories left to tell, so many roles to embody, so much work left unfinished. He got into acting to write and direct - he talked about it so many times, in so many interviews. When I think about the films he would have made - should have made - it rips me open. He should have had more time. And we needed more time with him.

My heart breaks for his family, for his friends, yes, but it also breaks for me and for the rest of the world that his immense talent is no longer among us. It breaks my heart because he had SO MANY stories left to share, he had so much passion and joy in him, he had so much purpose...

Jackie Robinson. James Brown. Thurgood Marshall. King T’Challa. Chadwick took towering icons and legendary heroes and made them human, and that is a rare gift. We were all blessed to have walked this earth at the same time that he did, and to witness that immense talent on display.

The Great Wall

I loved the complicated and fractious nature of William and Tovar's relationship, so anything that explores that - either how they first met or their early adventures or post-film - would be golden. And the more banter, the better. :D


Logan Lucky

I loved how sneaky smart Jimmy was, and how he gamed the entire system (even including the ending, because I have every faith that Clyde will win Agent Grayson over), and the small glimpses we got of Dayton and his life and fall from the sport and how hard he's worked to get back in to the top was fascinating. I'd be good with a character study on either, but I won't lie, I'd LOVE a Jimmy/Dayton fic if you could swing it. At least, it'd be fun to see these two interacting post-movie - and all the bonus points if Sadie's new "thing" is NASCAR and Dayton is her favorite driver. :D


Rock Of Ages

Killjoys

Pree is BY FAR my favorite character, so anything that focuses on him - either his past with Lachlan as head of the Farren or the life he's building as Governor of Westerly with Gared - it's all good. (Dutch and the Jaqobi brothers and Fancy are all welcome. I'm also good with poly if you want to go Pree/Fancy/Gared - someone as awesome as Pree totally deserves two husbands. :D)

If you want to write about Fancy as the main, I am a sucker for anything about his past - how and where did he learn to cook, what's his past like, what does he want to do now that Team Awesomeforce has scattered? And if you wanted to write some great hate-sex between Fancy and Davin, I would totally not complain. :D

(Also good with any AUs involving any of the characters as well.)

The Eagle

I will never get enough fics about Marcus and Esca on the farm learning how to work together as equals and friends and lovers and how all of their cultural differences manifest. I'm pretty good with anything with them, including historical or modern or future AUs, and this is one of the few fandoms where I'm okay with a D/s dynamic, as long as it's clear it's something they both enjoy. But mostly, I just want Esca and Marcus getting to be happy for the first time in forever.

Justice League

Bruce and Clark are literally one of my original and most beloved OTPs and I love what Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck brought into the roles. I'd love anything post-JL here - whether it's Clark and Bruce learning to be a team, a mission fic, or exploring the idea that Clark is more human than Bruce (at least, according to Bruce) and all of Bruce's guilt butting up against Clark's insistence that he's got no reason to feel that way...slash or gen is fine, just give me the World's Finest being awesome together. (And if you wanted to include the rest of the team, especially Diana and Alfred, I wouldn't complain. I loved everyone in the DCEU.)


Midnighter and Apollo

I couldn't really get into The Authority, but I am so in love with Steve Orlando's Midnighter and Midnighter and Apollo comics - just the history and complexity of their relationship, and how Apollo was strong enough to let Midnighter go and forge his own path and figure out who he was away from Apollo (and it was great for Apollo, too, I think). And how they're both so fiercely devoted to each other and committed to making things work this time. So, any slice of life or mission fic is great, just give me lots of the two of them being a power couple and making terrible jokes (and if Grayson was so to show up as eye candy, I wouldn't complain. :))


Moonlight

This movie gutted me in so many ways, but the ending was so fragile and hopeful. I'd love any fic that explores how Kevin and Chiron move on and try to build a life together. (And if Kevin and Paula meet, that would be super cool, too.)
