How do I get AWS credits?

  • UPDATE 10/15/25: The allotment of credits for this hackathon are gone. We apologize if you didn't get credits and wish you the best of luck on your project.
  • Note: AWS Credits CANNOT be used for Amazon Kiro and if requested, you will receive a separate code to access Kiro.

How do I get access to Kiro?

  • Access codes for Kiro are provided by AWS. If you already have access to Kiro, you do not need to request an access code. If you do not have access to Kiro, please request a code here. With a Kiro access code, you will receive a 14-day free trial. When the trial ends, you will be given the free-tier. We're only providing the free tier of Kiro for this hackathon and participants are responsible for any charges beyond the free tier.
  • To access Kiro, follow the Getting Started with your Waitlist Access CodePlease note you will need to sign in using Google or GitHub, access codes do not work with AWS Builder IDs or logging in with your organization identity.

Do I need a credit card in order to participate?

You can sign up via AWS builder ID where credit card is not needed. It's a personal profile for accessing specific AWS tools and services like Amazon CodeWhispererAmazon Q Developer, and AWS Training and Certification, but not for managing and deploying resources in an AWS account. You still need an actual AWS account to provision resources like Amazon S3 or EC2 and to use tools like the AWS Management ConsoleAWS CLI, or SDKs for building applications. Additionally, here is more info on Setting up your AWS payment preferences.

If I'm an AWS Partner or Customer, am I eligible to participate?

  • Yes, partners and customers of AWS are eligible to participate however please see full rules for exclusions.

Are there rate limits?

Here is a link on Tips for managing model token limits. You can view default quota amount that your account has and request more if you expect to need more. As for the FMs/LLMs, model must be hosted out of on Amazon Bedrock or Amazon SageMaker AI. If you can host the hf model on one of the mentioned services, that's fine. Let me know if you have more questions!

What is an Architecture Diagram?
