Thank you so much for offering to write one of these awesome things. <3
To give you a broad picture of what I like in fic:
I like slash, gen, het and OT3s and polyfic.
I like fluffy and happy endings, but also love fics with bittersweet and open ended ones too.
Random other things I like: Political intrigue, banter, snark, competence, people finishing each others sentences and knowing each other's looks, backstory and pining.
Things I don't like so much: non-con, lifestyle BDSM, humiliation, embarrassment or otherwise intelligent characters acting stupid for no reason at all.
I am absolutely fine with AUs. Canon divergent or something else. Modern? Fairytale? Space? Sports? College? All good.
If you want more clues about what I like, you can check out my Tumblr.
Thank you so much for offering to write one of these awesome pairings. <3

Random other things I like: Banter, snark, competence, people finishing each others sentences and knowing each other's looks, backstory and pining.
Things I don't like so much: non-con, heavy BDSM, humiliation, embarrassment or otherwise intelligent characters acting stupid for no reason at all.
If you want to make these fics full of hockey details, I'm cool with it, or if you want to set it more away from the rink that's cool too. I am absolutely fine with AUs. Canon divergent or something else.
If you want more clues about what I like, you can check out my Tumblr - there is uh a fair bit of hockey stuff there.

Hi!
Thank you so much for offering to write one of these awesome things. <3
I like slash, gen, het and threesomes, but I'd prefer if you avoid non-con and incest.
I like fluffy and happy endings, but also love fics with bittersweet and open ended ones too.
Random other things I like: Political intrigue, banter, snark, competence, long conversations conveyed by knowing looks, backstory and pining. Dude, all the pining.
Also, I am absolutely fine with AUs. Canon divergent or something else.
If you want more clues about what I like, you can check out my Tumblr but uh it is a lot of hockey right now. ;)
Thank you so much for offering to write one of these awesome things. <3

Also, I am absolutely fine with AUs and crossovers. Love them in fact. If you see crossover potential with another fandom you know I'm familiar with, go for it.
Now I will probably go fall asleep in front of the same House of Cards episode I've fallen asleep during twice before. It's not that the show is bad, it just requires a level of awake attention I don't really have in me.
Other than TV, I've been all hockey, hockey, hockey really. Have developed more Rangers and Ryan Callahan feelings in time for them to really suck, even though holy hell Ryan was insane today in the second period. He was blocking shots and taking hits without a stick because he'd broken it earlier in the shift! Other people would get a new one, but no not Ryan I-will-put-my-body-on-the-line-for-fucking-anything Callahan. <33 There needs to be more Ryan/Dan Girardi fic, fandom. Get on that.
And the Canes continue to be delightful even though I haven't made myself watch the highlights of today's game because it just sounds awful. I love how they've embraced Alex Semin into their crazy hockey family and how well him and EStaal have been working together.
As for my third team, the Kings. Things are improving and I still have far more feelings than I comfortable with about Jeff Carter. Far more. I mean due to Backhand Shelf (hockey podcast) I was composing a Carts/Richie vid to Kelly Clarkson songs the other day! Fuck my life.
I still love MvsW as a hockey podcast, I do but I must admit to a small tiny crush on Justin Bourne and his pigtail-pulling relationship with Jake is pretty delightful.
Canes won with Jeff Skinner goals and an Eric Staal hat-trick! <33
Jeff Carter got a goal (good for my hockey fantasy team, and well my Jeff Carter feelings have returned)
Andrew Ference was interviewed on MvsW (hockey podcast) and was pretty great
I watched the end of S5 of Fringe with labellementeuse. I might type up more comprehensive thoughts later but there were lots of feelings and on the whole I thought they did a good job. The show was a big part of my fandom life for a while and I will miss it on some level.
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! And I hope those that don't had/are having a nice, relaxing day. :D
Today was pretty excellent. We were at at my brother's girlfriend's parents' house for most of the day which could have been a little odd but on the whole was nice. There was sun and beer and wine and three courses of really good food well spread out throughout the day.
Also, a kitten! My brother bought his and his girlfriend's new kitten over when we were opening presents.
I got two lovely gifts! Which I really appreciate as I know as I was on the deadline pinch hits list.
fight or wait (1182 words) by Anonymous Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Justified Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Raylan Givens/Tim Gutterson Characters: Raylan Givens, Tim Gutterson, Art Mullen Summary: Art makes a shooing motion towards the door. "Unless you are giving a deposition, and I pray to God that neither of you are called to try to be honest about it, I don't want to see you in this building, or anywhere else, until I have a chance to resolve this mess.
Nice bonding moment between Tim and Raylan that really captures the show. <33
Loyalty (1303 words) by Anonymous Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Thick of It (UK) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warning: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Characters: Malcolm Tucker, Julius Nicholson, Sam Cassidy, Sam (Thick of It) Summary: A look inside Malcolm's mind during his ouster by Steve Fleming.
Expanding on the Sam scene in 3.07 when Malcolm gets kicked out! Really lovely.
La la la Yuletide. I meant to do things today but ended up drinking beer at lunch time and talking D&D as I'm gong to start playing again for the first time since 2005. There may have been a discussion about the alignment of the British Museum vs MoMA ... maybe. I love geeks.
And now I sort of want to write a Suits Spy AU BUT I suck at action scenes and get bored reading them let alone writing them and I really need to think about Yuletide.
Sad about Last Resort. Haven't got around to watching the latest ep but might do later tonight. It was a good show even if the last episode (I saw) was a little shaky, but at least they have enough notice to try and tie it up. A show needs to hire Andre Braugher. Someone on Twitter suggested Justified and my god, I would be so happy. *_*
In hockey fannishness I have found myself becoming more and more endeared towards Mr. Seguin recently and may have read all the Tyler/Tyler fic (his 'wife' - his words, not joking - is also called Tyler) on AO3 in one sitting. To be fair, there isn't that much, but there should be more!
A lot of my TV watching recently has been episodes of Deadwood (via DVDs leant to me by the lovely china_shop). It took me a while to get into it - I watched a few episodes before my UK trip - but I have to say I really love it now. Such great characters and narrative. Ian McShane is as good as everyone has said he is, and it's been amusing to see Tim Olyphant play a far less likable and charming Raylan Givens (sort of). I also love Brad Dourif as Doc Cochrane.
I'm finally seeing Skyfall on Monday as Coke are sponsoring an advance screening at my local movie theatre. \o/ I have successfully avoided all spoilers so far as somewhere along the way I became insistent I would see it spoiler free. I was always going to see it but reactions seem pretty positive, and I've been excited since I saw the trailer.
Relatedly Grantland did a countdown of Bond theme songs. The order isn't too bad. Totally agree with their top 3 and bottom few. O hai theme song from A Quantam of Solace.
And this is very belated but good job with that election thing, USA. :D
Just a quick note to say stay safe to people on the East Coast. Hopefully it's not as bad as everyone's predicted and you stay dry and powered. xx
Also um, Homeland's really, really good.
And I seem to have rediscovered hockey feelings. I blame catching up on MvsW.
Hockey things:
1.puckling has posted an awesome Tazer pic/gifspam. (I have realiesd that Mr Toews and I share a habit: I totally pull judgy unimpressed looks in photos as well, even when I'm having a good time. Maybe he's having a good time. Maybe he just doesn't like photos ... no he's probably just judgy :p)
2. And here's a fic where Carts and Ritchie are telepathic. I can't believe this didn't exist before now ...
We Have Conversations (4581 words) by pressdbtwnpages Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Hockey RPF Rating: Explicit Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Jeff Carter/Mike Richards Characters: Jeff Carter, Mike Richards Summary: Being telepathic saves a ton of money on phone bills.
In which Jeff and Mike develop telepathy after they're traded from Philadelphia.
It's been a quiet three-day weekend. I got some things done but on the whole it's been a lot of spending time around the house, which has been quite nice tbh. I haven't been back at work long enough to really feel the relief of a three day weekend but I'm not complaining. ;)
Fan things:
1. Still watching and enjoying Last Resort, Homeland, Good Wife and Downton Abbey (although I need to catch up on the last two).
2. H50, I'm still watching and ... yeah. Steve and Catherine are cute, and Kono is awesome. The end.
3. I watched the pilot of Elementary and I liked it - Lucy Liu and JLM were both enjoyable to watch - but I don't know that it really grabbed me. Maybe I'll catch up later. Nashville is kinda the same - although Connie Britton is a compelling reason to keep watching. (Friday Night Lights, I'll eventually get to you).
6. The Thick of It's Inquiry episode was awesome but emotional viewing (Malcolm feelings!) Not sure how I'm going to handle the series finale next week.
7. ... there are not Teen Wolf fic tabs open in my browser, except there are. But SGA crossovers and frat AUs! I am only so strong!
8. I collapsed in a pile of feelings this afternoon after I discovered there was a Harvey/Donna comment-fic-a-thon going on at donna_harvey. Lots of H/D fic I hadn't read! Delightful!
Thank you so much for offering to write one of these awesome things. <3
I like slash, gen, het and threesomes, but I'd prefer if you avoid non-con, rape and incest.
I like fluffy and happy endings, but also love fics with bittersweet and open ended ones too.
Random other things I like: Political intrigue, banter, snark, competence, backstory and pining. Dude, all the pining.
Also, I am absolutely fine with AUs and crossovers. Love them in fact. If you see crossover potential with another fandom you know I'm familiar with, go for it.
Had an awesome fangirl weekend at Get Together. Great to see Team Auckland and fangirls from Australia and other parts of NZ. I have now watched some clips of Teen Wolf but I can't see myself being assimilated quite yet, although Stiles is kinda adorable. I was quite interested in the pimp of the gay storyline on Smash but uh maybe not enough to watch the rest of the show which pretty much everyone tells me is bad bad bad. Other highlights were seeing some awesome vids that I'd missed and the fandom pub quiz which was a great success. I can also see me reading Tony/Steve fic again. <33
I also really enjoyed the most recent Parks and Rec episode.
*phew* Lots of TV. Still have Fringe and Homeland to go.

In other news: I have a new job! I got offered the job I wanted and it's permanent. \o/ I start in a week's time and my contract arrived today. Excited! I can actually plan things and when things are a bit more settled a new MacBook is totally in my sights.
Well I got home yesterday after 38 hours of airports and flights - including a lovely 11 hour stopover in Incheon Airport in Seoul. I got a few things done (wash all the clothes, actually have food in the house) before sleeping for 11 hours. So needed that.
While I'll miss people I left in the UK a lot and in some ways being back in London felt like I never left - I'm happy to be back. It's nice to be back in my own bed and Wellington is looking pretty gorgeous in the sunshine. Also positive job things happened while I was away. I had a semi-interview via skype while in Barcelona and got offered another job too. I am still trying to finalise some things but it's looking positive.
There will be photos. Eventually. These things always take me time.
Let the tv catch-up begin. Being in the UK meant I mostly kept up with The Thick of It (Malcolm I missed you so) and Downton Abbey but other than that ... ahaha no.
Why I started with H50 I'm not quite sure, but I did.
I also haven't really kept up with LJ/DW so that's another thing on the online to-do list. I uh ... sort of kept up with Tumblr as my queue of pictures of Gabriel Macht's face might attest. *cough*
Also just in time for Get Together this weekend! Very much looking forward to seeing everyone but I really need to do my Sportsnight pimp. I need to channel my feelings about Dan Rydell .... <333
And uh Yuletide noms are happening already? Dude. Time flies.
I am mostly sorted. Need to pack, book a shuttle/taxi for my lovely 5:30am check-in and sort out a little bit of cash and I actually think that's it. Got a good deal on some mini travel guides for Rome and Barcelona today (there's a Roy Lichtenstein statue in Barcelona, must track it down), ended up buying Hilary Mantel's Bring up the Bodies for the plane, and washed all the things.
TV things:
1. I don't think I've watched a show on ABC in years, but after reading some Fall TV Previews I know I'm definitely going to check out The Last Resort and maybe Nashville. Not sure if there's anything else that really grabs me. I am hearing good things about Elementary. Maybe Arrow although also maybe not.
Continuing shows I'll be watching: Community, Parks and Rec, The Good Wife, Hawaii Five-0 (at least at first because Steve feelings and Christine Lahti is pretty great), Fringe and Homeland.
2. The Thick of It S4 started this week. \o/ It was funny but I am looking forward to Malcolm. Oh yes.
3. Tumblr gifs and goddamn Rupert Graves might have lead me to obtain the Dr Who eps I haven't seen yet. *sigh*
Fic things:
I also wrote fic. Kid fic even. (sort of)
Little League (1552 words) by aworldinside Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Suits (TV) Rating: General Audiences Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Donna Paulsen/Harvey Specter Characters: Harvey Specter, Donna Paulsen Summary:
Harvey meets Donna's niece.
Damn this show.
I meant to tidy my room hours ago and I really should do it now. Gonna blast music (with headphones) and just get it done. Need to make sure I have some things for the trip and not exactly sure where they are. I definitely have a NZ -> UK adapter somewhere ...
And then I drank two large glasses of wine and wrote 1,200 words about Harvey meeting Donna's Little League playing niece in between spamming Twitter and Tumblr. Because apparently that's what I do now. Stupid show, I say with a fangirl's exasperated but crazy affection.
RL wise, my temp job stopped seven days early, which really isn't that great BUT I go to the UK in a week and a half. I keep waiting to remember something I've forgotten. I really just have to get money changed into pounds and euros ...
Let's not dwell on the fact I might not have a job when I get back and will therefore be second guessing all the money I spend while overseas. la la la la
