Exclusive AVSAB Discussion Forum Access

As a member, you have the opportunity to create and participate in Forum discussions and topics of interest in veterinary behavior. You can ask questions and discuss your cases with other Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, and AVSAB Affiliate Members with behavior interest as well as from our Members with expertise in behavior including Residents, VTS’s, and Board-Certified Specialists from the American College of Veterinary Behavior and Certified Applied Animal Behaviorists. Our forum is hosted through groups.io.

Listing in Our Veterinary and Affiliate Member Behavior Consultants Directory

As a veterinary or affiliate member, you have the opportunity to list your behavior practice and services in our AVSAB Behavior Consultant Online Directory found in our resources section. This is a national and international, location-based search directory available to referring veterinarians and open to the pet owning public seeking professionals in veterinary medicine who can help their clients or their pets with behavior concerns.

Listing in Our AVSAB’s Speakers Bureau Directory

If you are a Veterinarian, Veterinary Technician, or Affiliate member, who gives presentations on animal behavior, you can apply for inclusion into our Speakers Bureau. There is an approval process to ensure the speakers that represent AVSAB have proper credentials and adhere to the AVSAB Position Statements in their presentations. This benefit was created as an effort to share with other veterinary colleagues and pet guardians around the world about what veterinarians and applied animal behaviorists have to offer in the prevention and treatment of animal behavior problems.

AVSAB also offers a $350 grant to our AVSAB veterinary student chapters to help offset the cost of inviting a Speaker Bureau Member to present at their university.

Discounted Subscription Rate to the Journal of Veterinary Behavior

AVSAB is affiliated with Elsevier and the Journal of Veterinary Behavior to help our members stay up to date on the latest scientific findings in veterinary behavior. Starting January 1, 2022, Membership Dues now include the option to “opt in” to free online access to the Journal of Veterinary Behavior. Non-member rates are $168 for online only access.
