It supplies shared services these apps rely on—such as common libraries, licensing and account connectivity, plugin and content management, update coordination, and interprocess communication—so your Avid tools launch smoothly and run reliably. The runtime has no standalone interface and typically starts with your system; removing or disabling it may prevent Avid applications from functioning correctly. Updates are usually delivered through Avid installers or Avid Link.
