Aviate

Aviate is a 'launcher' for Android developed by ThumbsUp Labs (which has since been acquired by Yahoo). It offers you a completely different way to display and interact with your smartphone's home and desktop screens.

The first thing that you'll notice about Aviate is that it has abandoned the traditional desktop style and instead bases its interface in boxes. You can put all kinds of widgets, direct accesses, and photographs inside each box so that you always have the things you use most right at hand.

Aviate also works to bring you what you need at all times. The 'launcher' grows accustomed to your schedule and will create personalized desktops to match, for example while you're at home, on the way to something, or at work. The idea is that at different moments we want to access different apps, and Aviate will bring them up depending on where you are at a given moment.

Although its design is so elegant and compact, Aviate is practical above all. One example of this can be found in the app list that is situated two screens to the right. It displays your apps in alphabetical order in can you need to use an app that you don't open every day.
