Autodesk Material Library 2013 is a shared collection of predefined, physically based materials and texture images used by many Autodesk 2013 products, including AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max Design, and Inventor. It supplies common appearance assets—such as color, gloss, transparency, reflectivity, and surface relief—so models look consistent and render accurately across different applications and teams.
Installed alongside Autodesk software, the library is not a standalone program; it is a required component that enables opening, viewing, editing, and rendering of files that reference Autodesk Materials. It includes broad material categories like metals, glass, wood, concrete, stone, plastics, fabrics, and architectural finishes, allowing realistic visualization out of the box.
Depending on the product, complementary image libraries (for base or medium resolution textures) may also be installed to balance visual quality and disk space. The 2013 version aligns with the Autodesk 2013 product cycle and can coexist with other material library versions to preserve compatibility across projects.
