Auto Bass is a MIDI generator application featuring an editable algorithm designed to assist users in automatically creating basslines or melodies. The app offers various customizable parameters to tailor the generation process:

• Complexity: Breaks longer notes into shorter ones.
• Density: Determines the note/rest ratio.
• Spread: Sets the range of notes in the piano roll.
• Offset: Shifts the notes on the piano roll.
• Swing: Alters the start position of every other note in the sequence.
• Slide: Specifies the percentage of sliding notes within the sequence.

The app allows users to adjust gate length and velocity globally using dedicated parameters. Additionally, knobs for gate variety and velocity variety introduce randomization into the note generation process.

The Edit menu provides fundamental editing tools:

• Accent mode: Enables users to incorporate accented velocity to selected notes on the piano roll.
• Slide mode: Allows users to add slide effects to specific notes on the piano roll.
• Move mode: Permits dragging notes up and down on the piano roll to alter their pitch.
• Transpose: Changes the key of the entire sequence of notes.
• Nudge: Functionality to shift the sequence left or right.

User-defined bassline patterns can range between 1-bar and 64-bars long. The 'Walk type' option reshuffles notes within the piano roll without regenerating the entire sequence.

The application supports MIDI keyboards and sequencers for transposing basslines. An edit menu on the top-right corner offers additional functionalities such as adding accents, transposing, and nudging notes within the sequence. Auto Bass enables exporting MIDI files of generated patterns for further editing or sharing in DAWs.

The AUv3 plugin integration exposes all parameters as AU parameters, facilitating modulation and automation within compatible AUv3 host applications. With a robust music theory engine featuring over 100 scales, users can leverage both preset scales and custom ScaleBud 2 scales for enhanced musical creativity. Furthermore, BrainBud compatibility enables seamless key/scale changes alongside other compatible applications.

It is essential to note that Auto Bass is a MIDI-based application and does not generate sound independently; users require an audio/synth app for sound output. For utilizing the AUv3 plugin, an AUv3 host app like AUM, Cubasis, Logic Pro, Nanostudio, etc., is necessary.
