They Have Unlocked Potential
Move from running single projects to leading whole programs. Our PgMP certification training takes you from a clean PMI application through to exam day, with live mentoring, real case studies and one-to-one feedback from someone who has guided thousands of program managers to the credential.
Two decades of program leadership experience behind every batch.
Before you apply, it is worth checking your experience against what PMI asks for. The PgMP is built for people who already have years behind them in both project and program roles.
4 Year Degree (Bachelor's Degree, Global Equivalent, Higher Degree or Master Degree)
Minimum 48 months of unique non-overlapping professional project management experience or PMP®
Minimum 48 months of unique non-overlapping professional program management experience
There is also a path for applicants with a secondary degree, who need more program management experience in place of the four-year degree. If you are not sure which route fits your background, a short eligibility check on a strategy call will sort it out before you spend a rupee on the application.

PgMP (Program Management Professional) is a PMI credential for senior managers who lead multiple related projects as one program. It proves you can manage interdependencies, governance and benefits across a portfolio of work, not just deliver a single project on time.
With a four-year degree you need 48 months of project management experience (or an active PMP) plus 48 months of program management experience. With a secondary degree the program management requirement rises to 84 months. All experience must be unique and non-overlapping.
PMP certifies that you can run a single project well. PgMP sits a level above and certifies that you can lead several connected projects as a program, focusing on strategy, benefits realisation and cross-project governance. Most PgMP candidates already hold a PMP or equivalent experience.
For experienced managers moving into program or PMO leadership, yes. It is one of the few credentials that signals strategic, cross-project capability, and it is rare enough to stand out. Because the panel review is demanding, holding it tells employers your program experience has been independently verified.
Work through PMI’s Standard for Program Management, practise situational questions across the five domains, and clear the application and panel review first. Structured mentoring helps most people, because the exam tests judgement in real scenarios rather than memorised definitions. Our program covers the application, the exam and a full simulator.
As of 2026, the PMI exam fee is USD 800 for members and USD 1,000 for non-members. PMI membership is around USD 129 a year and usually pays for itself through the discount. Training and mentoring are separate, and the exam fee is only paid after your application clears the panel review.
PMI does not publish an official global pass rate for the PgMP. What we can share is our own students’ first-attempt pass rate, which sits at 98.5% across 6000+ professionals mentored. The bigger hurdle for most people is the application and panel review, not the exam itself.
It is a challenging, judgement-based exam: 170 multiple-choice questions over four hours, with most questions set in realistic program scenarios. Many capable senior managers stumble at the panel review by describing their work in project terms rather than program terms, which is exactly what good mentoring fixes.
PMI’s salary research consistently shows certified professionals earn more than their non-certified peers, and program leaders sit above project managers on most pay scales. Actual figures vary widely by country, industry and seniority, so treat the credential as a step up in role and earning potential rather than a fixed number.
Look for a provider with a strong track record, genuine one-to-one application support and a live mentor rather than only recorded videos. Augment Consultancy runs a live, mentor-led PgMP program with a 98.5% first-attempt pass rate and hands-on help through the PMI application and exam.
You submit an online application with detailed program experience summaries. PMI reviews it, and approved applications go to a panel of certified program managers for review. Once you clear the panel, you pay the exam fee and have a one-year window to pass the exam. Application coaching is built into our program.
Most working professionals need a few focused months alongside a full-time job, with the application and panel review often taking as long as the exam prep. Our batches run across weekends so you can prepare without stepping away from work, and the WhatsApp group keeps you supported until you pass.
