Frequently asked questions

Is AudioAmber really free?

Yes. AudioAmber is free to download and use, with no subscription, no in-app purchases, and no advertising. All audiobooks are public-domain recordings provided by the volunteers at LibriVox.

Where do the audiobooks come from?

AudioAmber streams audiobooks from LibriVox, a long-running volunteer project that records public-domain works. AudioAmber is not affiliated with LibriVox; we simply provide a focused iPhone player on top of their catalog.

Can I listen offline?

Yes. Tap the download icon on any chapter or book to save it locally. Downloaded books play without an internet connection and are marked in your library.

Does AudioAmber work in the background or with CarPlay?

Yes. AudioAmber supports background playback, lock-screen controls, AirPods/Bluetooth remote controls, and CarPlay.

Does AudioAmber collect my data?

No. AudioAmber requires no account, uses no analytics, and stores all of your data (library, progress, bookmarks, statistics) only on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my data?

Open the Profile tab in the app and tap Reset all data. Uninstalling AudioAmber also removes every local file and preference.

I found a broken book or a problem with a recording.

Audio quality issues with a specific recording are usually best reported to LibriVox directly. If a book refuses to load, fails to download, or behaves unexpectedly in the app, email us and we’ll investigate.

Which iPhones and iOS versions are supported?

AudioAmber supports iPhone running iOS 15.1 or later. iPad support via iPhone-mode is planned for a future release.
