Black and Pink : Black & Pink is an open family of LGBTQ prisoners and ‘free world’ allies who support each other. Our work toward the abolition of the prison industrial complex is rooted in the experience of currently and formerly incarcerated people.

Critical Resistance : Critical Resistance seeks to build an international movement to end the Prison Industrial Complex by challenging the belief that caging and controlling people makes us safe.

Jericho Movement: Jericho is a movement with the defined goal of gaining recognition of the fact that political prisoners and prisoners of war exist inside of the United States, despite the United States’ government’s continued denial … and winning amnesty and freedom for these political prisoners.

National Lawyers Guild: The National Lawyers Guild is the nation’s oldest and largest progressive bar association and was the first one in the US to be racially integrated. Their mission is to use law for the people, uniting lawyers, law students, legal workers, and jailhouse lawyers to function as an effective force in the service of the people by valuing human rights over property interests.

Prison Activist Resource Center: PARC corresponds with and mails a directory of resources to prisoners, their friends and family members. PARC is often the first point of contact for people to connect with prisoners’ rights organizations, community organizations, prison literature and arts projects, family and visiting resources, healthcare and legal resources, parole and pre-release resources, and the prison abolition movement.

Prisoner Correspondence Project: The Prisoner Correspondence Project is a solidarity project for gay, lesbian, transsexual, transgender, gender variant, two-spirit intersex, bisexual and queer prisoners in Canada and the United states, linking them with people a part of these same communities outside of prison.

Trans Pride Initiative: Trans Pride Initiative advocates for trans and gender variant per- sons in the Dallas area and for incarcerated trans and gender diverse persons throughout Texas. They provide general trans-related information and can answer questions about accessing hormones while doing time. They can also help advocate for improved conditions and safety in prison.

Sylvia Rivera Law Project: The Sylvia Rivera Law Project works to guarantee that all people are free to self-determine gender identity and expression, regardless of income or race, and without facing harassment, discrimination or violence.

Unstoppable : Unstoppable is specifically by and for incarcerated folks who identify as women, gender variant, and/or trans. This anti-authoritarian publication seeks to blend radical political analyses with personal experiences and observations.

Fire Ant: Fire Ant is a publication focused on spreading the words of anarchist prisoners and generating material solidarity for our imprisoned friends. Begun as a collaboration between anarchist prisoners and anarchists in Maine, Fire Ant seeks to raise material aid for anarchist prisoners while fostering communication between anarchists on both sides of the walls.

ABO Comix:  ABO is a collective of creators and activists who work to amplify the voices of LGBTQ prisoners through art. By working closely with prison abolitionist and queer advocacy organizations, we aim to keep queer prisoners connected to outside community and help them in the fight toward liberation. The profits we generate go back to incarcerated artists, especially those with little to no resources. Using the DIY ideology of “punk-zine” culture, ABO was formed with the philosophy of mutual support, community and friendship.

June 11: Each year, June 11th serves as a day for us to remember our longest imprisoned anarchist comrades through words, actions and ongoing material support.

Books and Literature

Books to Prisoners : Books To Prisoners is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to foster a love of reading behind bars, encourage the pursuit of knowledge and self-empowerment, and break the cycle of recidivism. We believe that books are tools for learning and for opening minds to new ideas and possibilities, and engage incarcerated individuals with the benefits of reading by mailing tens of thousands of free books to inmates across the country each year.

Easy Bay Prisoner Support : East Bay Prisoner Support formed in 2007 as an explicitly anarchist and anti-prison group. We work on prisoner solidarity and resistance to the repressive police state. Our primary projects include distributing anarchist, anti-capitalist and anti-civilization literature to prisoners, facilitating letter writing, highlighting bay area anti-prison events and cases, and fundraising for prisoners who are a part of the struggle against all forms of domination.
