About

This blog has been set up in response to the recent and immediate threat of real estate development and luxury condos in North Vancouver and most specifically the redevelopment (gentrification) plan for Lynn Valley Centre.

With recognition that North Vancouver sits on the unsurrendered, unceded traditional territories of the Squamish, and Tsleil-Watuuth people, this blog tries to operate on principles of decolonization. While the real estate boom has changed many neighborhoods in the Lower Mainland beyond recognition, and has driven up the price of living to almost unbearable heights, we as visitors on this land have not experienced anything like the same loss of language and culture, and all around genocide that the indigenous people of this land have for the last 150 years. Hopefully this can be a jumping off  point where we can finally see that our interests are far closer to those of the indigenous people of these lands, than to the real estate moguls, and oil barons who push us around from place to place and poison the air and water.

This blog does not represent any organization but instead hopes to aid resistance efforts though analysis and information.

Also – The editor of the blog is an anarchist, but they are not seeking to create “followers” of anarchism. With this blog they hope to promote, first and foremost self-organization, and self-education. Do not simply take the information and morals that you are presented with on the news, or in the schools (or even here for that matter) at face value, do your own research! Think for yourself! Share your knowledge and skills with others! Decide for yourselves what you’re going to do about problems! Have a backup plan in case the government or economy do not meet your needs or desires!
