Kristi Kavanaugh
Kristi Kavanaugh—known to most as K2—has spent more than 3 decades in the mountain tourism industry, building a career rooted in hospitality, community, and the joy of sharing her beloved community with the world. Since 2012, she has served as Vice President of Global Sales for Aspen Skiing Company, following prior positions as Director of Sales & Marketing for The St. Regis Aspen, Group Sales Director for Snowmass Tourism, and Director of Sales & Marketing at the Aspen Club.
Today, K2 leads Aspen Skiing Company’s global sales organization, overseeing a team of 20 responsible for international sales and marketing, the Stay Aspen Snowmass team, domestic travel partners, and all group sales business development. Her career began with The Ritz-Carlton, shortly after earning a marketing degree from Virginia Tech, and her experience spans group, leisure, and catering sales, as well as marketing and PR, across more than 20 countries and throughout the United States.
She sits on several boards, but none she is prouder of than the seat she has held for over a decade as an AspenOUT board member. She is a fan of the traditions of Aspen Gay Ski Week, its historic impact and the spirit of inclusion, celebration, and allyship it represents. She lives in Aspen with her two daughters and, when she’s not working to bring the world to the mountains, can be found skiing, traveling, enjoying music and creating artisan cakes.

About AspenOUT
AspenOUT is dedicated to empowering the LGBTQIA+ (Q+) community and their families across the Roaring Fork Valley and worldwide via digital curricula. Through innovative programming, vital resources, and strategic financial support, we champion the well-being of all queer individuals—lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and beyond—fostering a culture of understanding and belonging. We alleviate the financial barriers to essential specialized therapy for families, cultivate the potential of Q+ youth through empowerment initiatives and collegiate scholarships, and build a vibrant community for adults and allies through engaging programs.
