Journal Scope

The Journal of Performing Arts Medicine (JPAM) is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal focused on the health and healthcare of all individuals involved in the performing arts, both on stage and behind the scenes. The Journal features original research, case studies, reviews and perspectives from the health professionals, artists, educators, and support staff involved in health promotion, injury prevention, performance enhancement/optimization, treatment/management, and rehabilitation. JPAM is the official journal of the Performing Arts Medicine Association.

Open Access Publishing and Article Processing Charges

All articles are published open access under a CC-BY license, allowing authors to retain copyright while ensuring free public access. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. JPAM adheres to the definition of open access from the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) .

The article processing charge for the Journal of Performing Arts Medicine is USD $1,000 for all article types except Letters to the Editor, which carry no charge. Submitting authors who are members of the Performing Arts Medicine Association (as of the date of manuscript acceptance) are exempt from the fee for up to two articles per calendar year. JPAM is proudly published not-for-profit and directly by the Performing Arts Medicine Association, allowing us to keep article processing charges low.
