Led the end-to-end design of Universe’s digital onboarding experience—from initial concept through high-fidelity wireframes and seamless handoff to engineering. The final solution replaced manual support with a fully self-serve client onboarding process, significantly reducing internal workload.

At the time of this project, new users could only create a Universe account by meeting directly with a staff member. Whether users requested a demo or were ready to start immediately, they were required to schedule an appointment. During this session, Universe staff manually collected campaign details, user information, and preferences for integrating voter data—resulting in a high-touch, time-consuming onboarding process. This high-touch process limited scalability, slowed down user activation, and placed a significant burden on internal teams.
The current system limits scalability and creates a significant strain on staff. This presented a key design opportunity to reduce staff involvement and streamline the process, allowing users to minimize their reliance on one-on-one customer support interactions.
I led the design of Universe’s first fully in-browser onboarding flow, creating user journeys, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI. The new experience guides users through account setup, campaign details, and voter data integration in a seamless, intuitive interface—completely removing the need for staff involvement. This shift laid the foundation for scalable growth and improved user activation speed.
