UX Researcher & Designer | HCI

👋 Greetings, my name is Arissa, and I’m a UX Researcher. I am passionate about designing systems that spark collaboration and facilitate group engagement.
🦕🤖 A recent work, NarraGuide, explored how AI-powered conversational robots guide users through remote tours and support navigating new contexts.
🤖 At the People and Robots Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, under the guidance of Prof. Bilge Mutlu, I investigated how AI-powered agents can facilitate small group activities and support exploration of remote spaces with robots. I also served as a Research Coordinator for the INTEGRATE NSF Research Traineeship Program.
🎓 I completed my PhD, under the guidance of Koji Yatani, in the Interactive Intelligent Systems Laboratory (IIS-Lab), at the University of Tokyo, Japan. I earned my M.Eng at the University of Tokyo (IIS-Lab) and B.S. in Computer Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
