Ultrasound may help guide treatment of pediatric UC
A study in the journal Gastroenterology found that intestinal ultrasound parameters, such as colonic wall thickness, can help predict corticosteroid resistance in children with acute severe ulcerative colitis. The study involved 60 pediatric patients, 65% of whom did not respond to intravenous corticosteroids and required second-line therapy. Medscape (3/27)
